This post is a continuation of an earlier one in which I talked about my dislike of the Irish as a nation.
Here’s the latest development from the Land of Blarney:
Huge crowds have staged anti-migrant protests in Ireland amid growing anger at the government over an increase in arrivals and asylum claims.
Ireland has seen anti-migrant anger growing in recent months, over the sheer number of asylum seekers being housed across the nation. Many of them are unable to get accommodation, forcing them to sleep in tents which has further incited anger.
And there are pictures:
Needless to say, there were also counter-protests, wherein the above marchers were called…
…yup, the fallback epithet so beloved of the Left when someone disagrees with them.
Here’s the thing. It’s all very well to have mass marches and so on; that’s a fine thing, even when the Left does it. But in the end those are just words.
So here’s a suggestion to the Irish people who are aggrieved (and justifiably so) at this welcoming of the unwelcome by their government.
Don’t burn police cars or smash windows. Do something positive.
Here’s what we Americans did when faced with a similar (although much larger-scale) action that we didn’t like. We went to the polls, and voted that government out of power, installing a new government would do what we wanted them to do.
I dare the Irish people to do the same at the new general election. If they do, well and good. If they don’t, I’m going to have to believe that more Irish want the country to be flooded with immigrants than don’t want it.
And when “Mahmood” and “Fatima” become the most popular baby names in Ireland, and the muezzin’s calls from the minaret drown out the sounds of the bells of St. Kilda, you’ll just have to fucking deal with it.
Otherwise, STFU.
you’re absolutely right. Voting the bums out is the easiest thing to do. I hope they continue to rally and keep people motivated to vote out the bums at election time.
Speaking of voting the bums out…..Might I remind you of Sen. Thom Tillis, (GOPe-NC).
I see that Trump just pulled Ed Martin from the nomination, promising to put him into another position where Tillis can’t fuck with him.
what’s the story with Thom Tillis and Ed Martin?
If you want to know why the left dislikes something, look at the f***ing New York Times: “[Tillis] could not back Mr. Martin, a 2020 election denier, because as a lawyer in private practice he had defended rioters who stormed the building on Jan. 6, 2021.”
Tells you everything you need to know about Tillis and lots you would like about Martin.
PS. And also what Tillis thinks about certain portions of the Constitution.
Voting the bums out will be difficult. Ireland uses a ‘Proportional Representation – Single Transferable Vote’ system, where the voter ranks the candidates. There are FOURTEEN ! parties represented in the legislature, most of whom I suspect are slightly different shared of the same.
There are 2 odd features relative to the First Past the Post system, both of which are designed to entrench power: The constituencies are multi-member: 39 constituencies/ridings elect 174 reps. And, the other odd feature: “In Ireland, surplus votes are transferred as whole votes, and there is no ticket voting. This means that if a candidate receives more votes than necessary to be elected, the surplus votes are transferred to other candidates based on the next preferences indicated on the ballots.” In a 3 member riding, when a candidate gets 25% of the votes, the excess is distributed to the voters 2nd choice. But with 3 members, the voter can put his party candidates as 1,2 and 3. So gerrymandering becomes even more powerful as ‘excess’ voters votes are *always* applied in favour of the 2nd choice. A number of years ago the President(?) was elected be way of 2nd votes.
Of course this tends to produce minority coalition governments. The predominant parties apparently recommend their choice of ‘alternate’ party. (Think of the German CDU recommending the CSU as a second choice, the Canadian lieberal party recommending the NDP.)
Small parties are also more powerful, as they can be king-makers in power despite actually being a small proportion of the electorate (viz. the ultra-Orthodox parties in Isreali politics).
To beat this system would require very careful examination of the polling *within each constituency* to channel down-ballot choices to similar minded parties to deny ‘the opposition’ votes and especially any spillover votes.
250 years ago there would have been an ocean of slit necks littering the countryside – you know, back when men had dicks – unlike today when they have bloated labias and the sissy assed attitude to go with it.
The incessant efforts by too many American and European Whites to demonstrate how non- or anti-racist we are is going to end in a bloody race war unless the Left is overthrown. There are signs of restiveness in the native populations of Europe, but it may be too little, too late.
Best of luck to ’em.
