Tracking & Stalking

Well, now:

Reno, Nevada, Mayor Hillary Schieve, an independent, sued a private investigator after discovering a GPS tracking device on her vehicle.

The lawsuit, filed last week, alleges that the investigator trespassed onto her property to install the device without the mayor’s consent. She claims she was unaware it was attached to her vehicle until it was discovered by a mechanic.

The lawsuit named David McNeely as the private investigator and 5 Alpha Industries as the company involved. McNeely reportedly worked on behalf of an unnamed third party.

I can’t wait for the “unnamed third party” to become public knowledge.  I’m willing to accept the proposition that if it was Democrats, we’ll never be told.  Still:

“I am publicly announcing this now, and did not make any public statements at the time when it was discovered, to make clear that this is about one thing, and one thing only: it is not ok to stalk people.  This is about standing up to the rampant harassment of our civil servants and community leaders, and saying, this is NOT ok.”

No, it isn’t, Madame Mayor.  Now tell that to all the fucking government alphabet agencies, who spy on us ordinary folks constantly and think that this is just fine and dandy.

Oh, and one last thing, Madame Mayor:  given that snooping is being done largely by Democrats and the various Swamp bureaucrats they support, do you regret your earlier presidential endorsement?

“Independent”, my ass.

  1. Clearly a leftist and a poster child for why non-partisan elections shouldn’t exist. Her issues seem to be organ transplants (she is a recipient) and various forms of gayness. I was guessing that this was probably a domestic dispute rather than a political one but no form of S.O is listed other than a blurb on a paywalled article about how she was divorced but had never been married. Divorce was in 2021 so some sort of fallout from that seems possible. Financial issues are possible as she is fairly rich.

  2. I have a nuanced view of this. I have to, in order to rationalize the GPS tracker I used on my cheating ex-wife. Legally, I was ok, since I installed it on car we jointly owned.

Stepping back, I agree that .gov should need things like warrants to track private citizens.
But given how much they work against the American people, I think maybe all elected officials should have trackers implanted, so we can see who they are meeting with, and where. Not real-time, so no doxxing, but a clear trail.

Just because you’re tracking, doesn’t mean you’re stalking. Someone once said something about trusting but verifying.

  3. Since this was likely a city owned vehicle ( that important detail seems to be missing ) I’m all for recoding the location of publicly owned vehicles and have recommended it to the towns where I’ve been on the Citizens Budget Committees ( usually to strong resistance by the town employees for some reason ).

But if this is her personal vehicle, I would also suspect domestic disputes. If I had discovered it, I would have relocated it to a different vehicle and wait for the fallout to see who the perp was. And keep checking for a replacement on my vehicle.
