Here We Go Again

…and from the Usual Suspects, the usual stupid questions:

Barack Obama has questioned why the Titan sub tragedy that killed five men has received wall-to-wall media coverage – while a boat sinking with 700 refugees on board has been ignored.

Why?  I’ll tell you why:  nobody cares about African peasants drowning because a.) they’re peasants and b.) it happens all the time.

Yeah, it’s unfair and blah blah blah “equity” yadda yadda “untenable”, but the fact is that a tragedy involving wealthy people visiting arguably the most famous (and tragic) shipwreck in history thousands of feet below the surface is more newsworthy than the drownings of (yet another) boatload of illegal immigrants — I’m sorry, I mean undocumented travelers / refugees / asylum-seekers — who are invading Europe on a daily basis.

And the final thing:  not everything is about being Black, you disgusting race hustler.

  1. For all of his life he will hate the fact that he will never be white.

Imagine if you were condemned to be a negro, you would be a miserable fuk too.

  2. Can someone remind Big Ears that a sub lost in the North Atlantic that you might in theory rescue people from is different than a sunken hulk filled with the dead who didn’t simply drown and float away within the first 15 minutes of the water rising over the highest point on the sinking vessel?
    Barn door meet horse.

Was there enough death coverage from the train wreck in Odisha, eastern India that killed 292 and injured 1175 to satisfy his racist attention meter? The earth quake in Turkey? How about the reporting on any weekend on the south side of his blessed hometown of Chicago?

He forgets the world attention to rescuing a kids football team from a cave in Thailand, or the numerous kids saved from wells and defunct bore holes anywhere, or the efforts for living miners trapped in mines anywhere, etc.

The smartest man in any room can’t seem to appreciate the difference between a still ongoing story concerning a hopeful outcome for the possibly living from the coverage given to a story that reached it’s grim and final conclusion 15 minutes after the story started.

As usual his vision seems conveniently, for him, colored.

    1. His inability to see the difference between a run of the mill Dog Bites Man story and a Man Bites Dog story that his protege’ made sure continued long enough to distract from a new story about his drug-addled bagman son, a story that implicated him in a way that his bete noir predecessor never experienced is exceeded only by his ability to make everything about race, including his utter ignorance about the Odisha train wreck or the other examples you cite.

      1. I was going reply with the same points you made, but put it so eloquently than I’ll just second your comment. Well stated.

  3. Judging by the dark humor memes that came flooding out, the schadenfreude for sinking billionaires was strong enough to fascinate many and thoroughly occupy their attention.

  4. To sum up all the truth here above, Uhbama The Black Jesus is an intelligent but ignorant and racist POS who sees everything through the lens of race and his ego. I’ll never expect anything better out of his big mouth.

  5. Zero’s attempted race pandering here isn’t even the stupidest take I’ve seen on this either (although it is more blatantly repulsive).
No, the Dunce Hat goes to Dan Crenshaw and his outrage that the Navy took so long to tell people they had hull collapse sounds on passive sonar. From his comments, old Myopia Dan seemed to believe that
    A. Catastrophic implosion sounds are easily confused with those of a sub settling relatively intact on the ocean floor,
    B. Even after catastrophic implosion, the occupants of the sub could have been saved if Navy had “admitted what they knew” earlier, and
    C. That the rescue or recovery of five people or their bodies (crushed and scattered with the sub pieces across the ocean floor) was somehow more important and more costly than the relocation or replacement of either a highly classified deep sea underwater sonar array and/or a highly classified US Navy submarine (whichever it actually was) plus the trained crew aboard any naval submarine, which cannot go that deep anyway and have no means of recovering the submersible, even if it were intact.
I know he opened his mouth in criticism of Pedo Joe, intending his comments to be condemnation of the administration’s responses, but all he did was call attention to his own self importance and ignorance (likely willful ignorance at that, as he WAS military, I never was, yet I seem to have a better grasp of our submarine capabilities than he does).
Maybe Red Dan is trying to recoup some support he lost after his endorsement of payment illegal and unconstitutional gun control schemes, but he just showed himself to be a self important idiot.
At least he’s in DC, where he has company of like (and small) mind.

    1. “Payment” was supposed to be “patently” in the second to last sentence. Autocorrupt decided I had no idea what I wanted to say and fixed it for me.

  6. I don’t care about the millionaires being stupid on a POS “submarine.” While the migrants loss is tragic, my well of compassion is being drawn on for other things.

Fix your own country. The US has done it more than twice. Often we have been successful with fixing things. We need more Shays Rebellions, Battle of Athens TN and such. it’s time that more bureaucrats were decorated with tar and feathers. According to the news a few years ago, Gorilla Glue might be adequate substitute for tar. then again, heating the tar up might have added to the experience of being tarred and feathered.

  7. He’s incorrect. I would be interested in anyone who died exploring the wreck of the Titanic without regard to their economic situation.
