  1. Thanks — that was a great way to start the day with a cup of coffee. ELO belongs to a group of musicians who can be identified within the first few notes of a song — like David Gilmour, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, and Mark Knopfler. Never had the chance to see them live, so this will have to do.

    1. Stevie Ray Vaughn is the king of guitar. What a talent he was. Taken way too soon.

  2. Only own one, Yes at Montreux. ELO is on my fave list, though. Only ever actually saw them (Yes) live on their Big Generator tour in Pittsburgh. Think Trevor Rabin was with them at the time and Wakemen wasn’t. Wife was going to buy me a ticket for what turned out to be their last tour with Wakemen. I love them, but not GS4 pay and $150.00 ticket worth and drive from Lawton, OK to Dallas and back, I was old and poor, and stuph…and now older and poorer… If I’d known it was Wakemen’s last tour he was half the show…

She was going to buy it for me, and make hotel arrangements. Did I mention I love her? Yes means nothing to her…

    And now that I’m a lofty GS9 Step10 I’mna still a cheap bastage…No Wakemen, no me.

  4. A great one, thanks! I’ve seen ELO live several times – got lucky, it was the 70s in the NYC area and we were all still, hmmm, imbibing substances. Jeff Lynne wrote most of their stuff. I also enjoyed Lynne later, in the Traveling Wilburys.
