I’ve never dived into the Italian campaign in any depth before; it’s time. And Holland is one of my favorite WWII historians.

I think you may have meant Robert Hanssen for FBI but I would’ve taken James Comey too. Ames was CIA and that’s another list but it wouldn’t be complete unless it included John Brennan.
The book on the Italian campaign looks interesting. I’m chipping away at a biography on Samuel Adams at the moment.
Is your Sam Adams bio by Stacy Schiff? I read that about a year ago, and for me, the book was a fascinating look at pre-Revolutionary War Boston where he operated.
However, the man himself succeeded at fomenting revolution and survived only because he was a ghost in the shadows, instigating others to act against the occupying British, and as a result, I felt we never really got to know the man, unlike most other biographies of famous people.
