Baystate Health is introducing new artificial intelligence-based weapons detection systems across its hospital facilities to enhance patient and visitor safety.
The technology combines traditional hardware with AI tools to screen people as they enter the building. By detecting specific metal masses and weapon-like shapes, the system allows daily items such as pacemakers, wheelchairs, phones and wallets to pass through without setting off alarms.
The system utilizes technology similar to what is used at schools and sporting events to detect prohibited items, including firearms, knives and electronic smoking devices. To accommodate the system at Baystate Medical Center, the hospital is closing its pediatric emergency department entrance to establish a single entry point where everyone passes through the detector.

That said, BOLO for similar fuckery in your state or city — and not just in hospitals either, because if the tech exists today, expect it to spread like the bubonic plague by tomorrow. It’s like the loathsome Flock cameras, only with added bastardy.

Some obvious questions:
1 – Jeff Hauk – does he have a family member named Mike Hauk? HAD to ask…
2 – Safe? Yes, because “Gun Free Zones” have proven to be some of the safest places ever. (SARCASM).
3 – What will criminals, gang members and mentally ill whackos do with this system? Will they stop to deal with security if the system alerts that there is a prohibited item?
4 – Does someone who is legally concealed carrying now have to either A – leave their gun at home and drive unarmed through Springfield MA (WHICH IS A FUCKING SHITHOLE) OR B – Leave their gun locked in their vehicle, which could be stolen by a criminal and now there is a gun in the WRONG hands.
5 – How does this protect patients, visitors and employees in, around and coming to and from the parking areas from their vehicles?

Only about a third of the population in the USA pays taxes – so if 100 or so million working people STOPPED paying taxes – the govt would be game over money wise.
