Haha. You have apparently not read Spike Milligan’s war mémoires. If you had, you would have to refer to the piece as “the bloody awful Warsaw Concerto”. Recommended reading, and thanks for the earworm.
I always thought Milligan’s slur on the Warsaw Concerto was misplaced.
Apologies if I wasn’t clear. I think the Concerto is magnificent, but I always think of it in Spike’s terminology because of the books.
Valentina Lisitsa is great. In an age where you have to pay someone to take your unwanted piano away, I’m astonished at the poor quality of her rehearsal piano at home.
Despite his protestations to the contrary, Spike Milligan was not god. His opinions while often dubious were at least amusing.
I saw Milligan perform live. His sax playing was astonishing, his comedy brilliant. Puckoon is still one of my favorite books.
