Denmark will ban burkas in schools and universities as part of a plan to tackle what it calls ‘parallel societies’.
The garment worn by some Muslim women is already banned in public places in the Scandinavian country, but the move would now expand the order into classrooms across Denmark.
In Denmark, the term ‘parallel societies’ refers to residential areas where more than half of inhabitants are from an immigrant background.
The ban on full-face coverings was introduced in Denmark in 2018, with those found to break the rule forced to pay a £1,300 fine.
And the best part:
Denmark has some of the toughest migration laws in Europe, which were introduced after its Left-leaning government, which came into power in 2019, promised to curb migration to ‘protect Danishness’.
The underlying sentiment: fit in or fuck off — or to be more precise, fit in or we’ll make you fuck off.
Gotta say, I’m not disagreeing with the Danes here.
I know, I know: we wouldn’t do this to Orthodox Jews or the Amish, who create their own “parallel societies”.
The difference is that, unlike the Muslims, neither the Orthos or the Amish are interested in eventually forcing the rest of their host country to become like them.
If it’s like the Netherlands (and I hope it’s not) they’re passing laws banning burkahs but police, courts, and city councils are simply refusing to enforce.

And yet, truth be told, neither of those parallel societies you cite are completely benign with respect to the general culture. One perhaps more than the other, but there’s an argument there about both. They certainly don’t want us to “become like them”, but still want to use our freedom for their own interests, either not contributing to or actively exploiting the commonweal as parasites.
Dress codes are just a distraction, not a solution. Consider a jurisdiction that wanted to ban pants-sagging, slides, and hair bonnets. Talk about your parallel society. Oh, baby, now you’ve got an argument.
Frankly, I am less worried about the parallel societies that self-identify with burkas, turbans, black hats, or ghetto shoes, versus the ones that claim to assimilate but actually infiltrate … see Vivek Ramaswamy, the H1-B system, or the CEO of practically any big tech company you can name. (I see that J.D. Vance’s wife just had another baby.)
Indeed, radical Christians are as bad as radical muhammedans. There’s just far fewer of them in most countries.
Feel free to point out to me where radical Christians have firebombed mosques and madrasses in recent times.

I see no problem with that, as long as they pay taxes and obey the Constitution in general.
