Ummmm Okay

Here’s a headline that’s supposed to evoke a response from me, but I don’t think my response is the one they’re looking for:

DHS says more than 300 TSA agents have quit since start of shutdown

I know, I know:  I’m supposed to get all upset that the filthy socialists in Congress have blocked funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

However, my hostility towards the TSfuckingA goes back pretty much  to its post-9/11 panic foundation.

So my feelings run more towards this response:

When it comes to abolishing transparent Security Theater and government bullying, put me at the head of the line of supporters.

And by the way:  I have fairly similar feelings about the entire Homeland Security department.

  1. 300 less assholes working for the government.

I wonder how many of these talentless hacks who quit the government job will be asking if you want fries with that?

    I hope more quit.

  2. “I have fairly similar feelings about the entire Homeland Security department.”

No argument from me on DHS but what about the IRS?

I would love to see the IRS downsized “bigly” as Trump says.

    # do illegal immigrants pay their fair share?
    # security theatre does not keep anyone safe

  3. I thought that TSA stood for “Touchin’ Squeezin’ and ‘Arrassment” Has the establishment of Homeland Security improved anything to actually promote homeland security? it sounds more like a make work program for more bureaucrats.

  4. They could shitcan 90% of the entire gov’t, fed, state, local, and I doubt I’d even notice.

Except for the increase in roadside parasites with hand scrawled begging signs.

Just point a pistol at them and they turn into a puddle of boiling shit.

True story ghost. – In my humble opinion this is the best comment of the day.

I work for local – and it is a fucking joke.

      – janitors who sit around watching movies on streaming sticks half of the day

      – many people who “work from home” 2 to 3 days a week yet you can’t reach them via phone or email and the 1 or 2 days a week they are in the office you ask them what happened they get upset and say they were busy. And half the days they are supposed to be onsite they take shitloads of coffee breaks and chat with their friends.

      – I am required to be onsite 5 days a week in person. My job “can’t effectively be done remotely, remote work denied” even though I am productive and work in IT. My boss and bosses boss can work remotely though.

Shitloads of useless hires keep happening. Assistant directors under the directors. Clerks under the admin assistants. And many directors promoted to executive director. And assistant vp under the vp’s.
Many of these people work from home. Many salaries well over 100,000 a year. And half of these clowns can barely log in to their email or join a zoom meeting.

It’s a 3 ring circuit that wastes our money.

  5. Yeah, I was thinking this morning that condemning the Dims for defunding TSA is a hard sell for me. Plenty of other good reasons to condemn them.

  6. They need to return physical security to the airports.

There’s no reason the gubmint needs to be doing this task. It should be done locally, with massive fines for screwups.

    1. This is what happened at our local airport, MCI. Airlines and City Airport Authority contracted for screeners – no TSA at all.

  7. I think security should revert to individual airlines. That way, you can make an informed choice between perceived safety versus inconvenience. NB: El Al.

  8. The government is, at best, a layer of shit covering all things. I am having a very hard time of finding the energy to pay my contributions to there continued malfeasance this year for sure.
