Many A True Word

…spoken in jest, as the saying goes.  Here’s the jest:

…and here are the true words.

Back when I was a business consultant, I belonged to a share group of same-industry consultants who would meet twice a year at some pleasure spot (#BusinessDeduction) to swap stories, pass on potential leads and so on.

I was moaning about a recent catastrophe which had befallen me (details unimportant, but “fuckwit client” will suffice), when everyone at the table laughed, and one of the guys said:

“Never take on a gig when the client CEO has a Harvard MBA.”

And it’s true.  Not only are these ivory-tower assholes devoid of any true business sense, but the Harvard MBA must be a pretty shitty course, judging by their track record in the real world that I swam around in.  (That particular company failed, spectacularly, and the CEO left the country for a while.)

The only reason I can think of for anyone to get an MBA is if their undergrad course didn’t include things like Accounting, Stat or Marketing.

  1. Harvard and the other Ivy League colleges have been circling the shitter for decades with their grade inflation, woke policies, politically “correct” speech codes, hypocrisy, plagiarism and soaring costs for mediocre education that has become far closer to indoctrination.

  2. My brief career with a Fortune 500 company was highlighted by their Acquisition Department, managed by an MBA from University of Pennsylvania.

Every acquisition had gone tits up in less than 5 years. Harry acknowledged it yet the integration plans never changed. He explained that they expected us to use their customer satisfaction plan. We had a 96% rating, they had a 45% with customers. When we laughed he was quite upset.

I am willing to bet that the students were taught best business practices by professor who never worked in business.

  3. It’s my assessment that pretty much everything wrong in the bidnezz, legal, political world, comes out of the Ivy League. None of this will ever blow up in their face because attending Haaaavvvaaaad is not about learning anything useful, it’s about making connections with the masters of the universe

  4. That’s why Harvard isn’t known as an engineering school; you’ve actually got to know something of both science and economics to be an engineer.
