And speaking of assholes:

...give it to ’em good and hard, in perpetua.  Not that I care:  I’m long gone.

...probably should have stuck to her backyard, and not taken it to the streets.

...when telling the truth is dangerous, is it time to start the hangings?  Asking for a friend.

...key phrase:  “active volcano”.

...given the generation and nationality, I’m amazed that it’s as high as 53%.

...what was the middle bit, again?

...key word:  India.

...thus devaluing their “brand”, but if they don’t care, why should I?

...but only partially so:  it’s going to be a long hard slog.

...amazingly, not in Australia.

...I think that any complaints of this nature from prisoners should be ignored, just on principle.

...which means that I’ve had long Covid for over 30 years.

...I can think of a dozen, without even trying.

...off to the 7pm shift at the docks, would be my guess.

And in link-free INSIGNIFICA:

And in more ShowBiz News:

...considering that it’s quite possibly the best TV show ever made (never mind just comedy), that’s not surprising.

...not that we need much excuse to look at the delectable Mariska:

And that’s it for the news;  now get on with your lives.

  1. So Caitlyn Jenner has changed its name to Mariska Hargitay now. It’s getting hard to keep up.

  2. Re: The female prison librarian. I’d have to see pix of her to decide whether or not it was Cruel and Unusual Punishment.

Re: The desalinization plant. Approved only if it was entirely powered by an on-site wind farm.

    1. That desalinization plant would have to be located in Sacramento or Washington D.C., then.

  3. I should like Mariska. She has that unconventional beauty about her that usually captivates me. But for some inexplicable reason, she never moved the needle for me.

And thank you for not including Lizzo pics. That was a nice humanitarian gesture.

    1. Yes, thank you for that. Even if she had worn the latest from the Sears, Roebuck Ted Williams outdoor collection, that image is not something I need to deal with this early in the morning.

    2. That might be the Hargitay factor. Maybe it’s the Hungarian factor. La Ciccolina the former Italian porn actress and Parliamentarian never did anything for me, either.

  4. Have some sympathy for those dead climbers, Kim: they were probably trying to escape Putin’s press gangs.

  5. “Eight killed after falling 13,000ft off highest active volcano in Europe and Asia”

That is an unbelievably stupid headline. They did not fall thirteen thousand feet. If you lose your grip while mountain climbing, you don’t fall all the way to sea level. Even if the mountain is cube-shaped with perfectly vertical sides, you can only fall as far as the plain that the mountain sits on, which is NOT at mean sea level. (If it were, the mountain would be an island at high tide every day.)

The apartment building I live in is about 500 feet above sea level, but if I drop something off my balcony, it doesn’t fall 500 feet. It falls about 20 feet before the ground stops it.

  6. Thanks for the News item related to Paypal.
It reminded me to close my account.
The effort was made more difficult because I also had a Paypal credit account and had to deal with an actual person in order to close that. Only then could I close the main account.
    I feel much better now.

  7. I’ve been trying to close my Paypal account for weeks. Seems I preordered some bulbs from Brecks for delivery in December and that has locked up my account for the duration. I called Brecks and asked them to cancel the order, but if they do that, then the bulbs go on the wait list; no chance to change payment.

Like so many times in my 6 decades, I will take solace in the promise of delayed gratification and that the hearty FU to PP will be even more rewarding.

  8. Next year this time: Wharton adds remedial reading and math to vaunted MBA programs for benefit of woke students.

    1. To maintain their diversity progress, they will have to have the remedial reading and writing class taught by a non-native speaker who only speaks Pidgin English. Savvy?
