I wish to take issue with the old Greek bastard on this one. Bomber Command might have destroyed Dresden’s architecture, but it didn’t emasculate it.

How in the world did those trees survive? Given what I’ve read about the firestorm I would expect any vegetation to have been reduced to nothing but constituent atoms wafting about in the atmosphere.

I tend to prefer the old term “reprobate” when I don’t know someone’s parentage. It’s more personal, since it is based on what that person does, and not on who his parents or grandparents were.
