It all started when Personnel became Human Resources. Bring ‘em in; grind ‘em up; spit ‘em out; repeat.
I was born in the wrong century.
Chesterton also is quoted as saying, “Ten thousand women marched through the streets shouting, ‘We will not be dictated to,’ and went off and became stenographers.”
I have seen slight variations of this quote over the decades attributed to George Bernard Shaw and even Benjamin Disraeli.
