Quote Of The Day

From Glenn Reynolds, a few words of level-headed wisdom:

“When Saudis kill a Saudi in Turkey, it’s not hugely resonant. Sure, top American journalists care — because he was not just a journalist (the Saudis have killed plenty of those, as have the Turks, the Chinese, the Russians . . .) but one they knew personally. But hardly anyone thinks that the Saudis are nice people; they’re allies of convenience, not of sentiment. If they help us beat Iran, fine, but nobody thought they were our friends before.”

Exactly.  Plus, this “journalist” (Jamal Khashoggi) was actually a Muslim Brotherhood activist more than a journo, so fuck him.

And in a related post, talking about media outrage at Khashoggi’s murder, Charles Martin adds:

Let me get this straight. Saudi Arabia sponsored the 9/11 hijackers, stones rape victims to death for being unchaste, hangs people for being gay…and NOW you’re upset with them?

Yeah, because the obsequious diplomacy as practiced by Barack Cocksucker Obama was totes different.

All that said, let’s be honest and admit that in aggregate, both the Saudis and the Turks are foul assholes and should they decide to kill each other for fun, spite or profit, nobody else should care.  Ditto all the other Muslim regimes in the Middle East.

Quote Of The Day

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about.” — Hillary Bitch Clinton, October 10 2018

Fair enough.  So let’s list a few of the things that I (and a great many others) stand for, and that I care about, in no specific order (and feel free to add any that I may have forgotten):

  • The First and Second Amendments (and the other eight in the Bill of Rights, but most especially the first two)
  • A Constitution that cannot be changed by any means other than by amendment, as laid down in the Constitution
  • A tri-cameral government system, consisting of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches
  • A judiciary that follows Constitutional precept rather than changing it by judicial fiat or through political belief
  • The Electoral College
  • Citizen-only voting, with proof of same required before doing so
  • Secure borders and controlled immigration
  • Low taxes

Now, using Clinton’s own rationale, and considering that her political party stands absolutely foursquare against, and seeks to destroy all the above, I would ask her to explain to me why I should ever be in any way “civil” towards Democrats (or their camp followers, the “Social” Democrats).

While she’s preparing her response, I’ll be down at the range.

Quote Of The Day

“You are beyond dreaming if you think 17 year old boys are not going to misbehave from time to time as they begin to attempt relationships with the opposite sex. That is just the way we animals are made!” —  Kris Long, veteran journalist at CBS affiliate KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, talking about the Kavanaugh hearings.

Needless to say, this being California, Long was fired.

Quote Of The Day

From Guy Benson at Townhall.com:

“Now that Kavanaugh has been approved, I do not feel happiness.  I’m still appalled by everything that just transpired.  I’m fearful about the zero-sum, say-anything nature of our politics.  I’m furious at an activist media that couldn’t disguise its rooting interests, evidenced by repeated abandonments of core journalistic practices.”

Furious is good.  Keep that fury, everybody:  feed it, nurture it, let it grow and grow, and feel it every time you cast your vote whether now, in November 2018;  in the presidential elections of November 2020, or in every poll to come.
