“For too long, corporate strategies were warped by the delusions of green ideologues who neither understand basic economics nor the fundamental science behind energy production. Once the mandates and incentives were stripped away, demand recalibrated to match affordability, reliability, and everyday practicality, which are values far more enduring than climate cult slogans.” — Leslie Eastman
can’t argue with that at all.
There are certainly some things we can do for the environment that make sense such as don’t litter, properly dispose of your waste, not dump stuff in water sources etc. The Global climate cooling/warming/change is caused by humans simply has not been proven and likely never will be has been exploited to work against the free market system by curbing our economic growth. It is nothing more than modern snake oil salesmanship.
All this watermelon shit (green on the outside, red on the inside), lived for years under the magic umbrella of “Clean Water, Polar Bear’s, & We love the environment.” Businesses were shaken down, kids were indoctrinated, .gov agencies were created. As a college student from a family in the Cattle bizness trying to argue against it (because the livestock industry was one of the targets) was overwhelming. Inevitable someone would say, “I’m not here to make $$$$ I’m here to save the planet.” as if they were missionaries brining the light of Gaia to the unenlightened, and people would buy it. Then you’d hear responses like “Rainbow Flower isn’t financially benefiting from this, while Logging Company X, is.” thereby assigning purity & status to the Enviro activist.
Then in my late 20’s I read something in a PJ O’Rourke (PBUH) writing about the principle that “Everybody gets paid.” I finally understood what was going on, when I realized that not ever form of payment was $$$$. Greenies get paid in power, & control. The same incentive structure that .gov gets paid in. Its why some EPA bureaucrat can say , “I only make 40k a year salary, I’m here for noble purposes.” Its because Bureaucrat X’s incentive structure is not the salary, its the control.
A whole new world opened up for me understanding why things happen.
Now sadly, all of the revisionist “Green’s went to far” shit is unlikely to have any real-life impact (other than us, sitting in our own warm piss of smug self-satisfaction) because we collectively have allowed these bastards to build power & indoctrination structures around a narrative for the last 50 years, that is going to outlive any usefulness to the original purpose, like Stonehenge.
