Getting Wood

…and no, we’re not talking about looking at bikini pics of Salma Hayek.  We’re talking about this nonsense, as sent to me by my so-called friend Combat Controller:

And once fitted:

Seriously?

As I pointed out to CC, the only thing stopping me from reaching for Ye Olde Credytte Carde is that said “furniture upgrade” costs nearly double what I spent on the rifle itself.

Gotta admit, though, it’s not bad-looking.

  1. I once saw a pik of an army style rifle length AR that had a dark wood stock, grip, and hand guards and found it rather fetching. But alas the price was way too high.

  2. It would help dispel some of the “scary black rifle” nonsense the normies and liberals have about AR rifles. Like Ghost said, there’s an outfit that has a rather interesting looking AR already kitted out with wood. Expensive, but nice.

    1. Yea. Kim shouldn’t tease us and then not deliver.

“If your gonna tease me you better be ready to please me”

      Where are those Selma pics?

  3. What in the actual fuck?

    I don’t get it.

My Glock. My Springfield XDS. On things they got “fancy” is sites. Springfield came stock with fiber front site. I love it. And my Glock I put night sights on. Other than that. These are tools. This accessory thing would be like putting wood grips on my Milwaukee drill. Why? Not just no. Fuck no.

Now. I would love to get some wood grips for a revolver. That’s nice. Got some wood on my single six. I leave the rubber on the gp100 for recoil help. But wood would look nice.

This reminds me of the fucktards who spend 30 grand on a Honda civic and then put 30 grand of shit accessories on it.

I mean the companies selling this stuff though, separating a fool and his money. Good way to make money

  4. As noted, YMMV, and mine does. That wood furniture strikes me like a phonograph needle dragging across an LP. Plastic furniture on a lever gun also sets my teeth on edge, but I can at least concede the utility in some harsh environments. Yes, I am a grey-haired olde pharte set in my ways, but then you already know that.

  5. Kim, I emailed you photos of an AR-15 I built a couple of years ago: Cerakoted to look Parkerized, wood furniture stained Springfield Armory red, old school canvas sling. I call it my Fudd-riffic AR-15. Yeah, it was way more expensive than an out of the box poodle shooter. But I’m an Olde Phartte and I’m pretty well set for guns, cars, and books. It made me – and everybody who sees it – smile. The guys at the gun shop that did the Cerakoting loved it. I don’t care what the above Olde Pharttes think.
