C.W. thinks that this is the best-looking Single Six ever:

…and I have to admit that I can’t disagree with him that much. Hmmm… I wonder whether those staghorn grips would look better on the stainless, or the blue?

Staghorn grips are like hen’s teeth nowadays. Ajax used to make them, but they seem to have been discontinued, and I can’t afford the cost of custom-made ones. All that’s left seems to be fake ivory, which I think would be a poor substitute.
Comments and sources would be welcome.
But that reminds me: I haven’t played with these for at least a month or so. Time to rectify that, so if you’ll excuse me… it’s range time.
Wood grips are really nice, don’t feel like
Your guns aren’t nice as it.
I have wood grips on my 4.62 inch Single Six convertible. This is a great 22 revolver.
Reliable. Can use 22 LR or WMR. Comfortable to hold. Barely any recoil.
Can’t beat a single six.
But whatever grips you end up with, enjoy
Have you checked eBay? Sometimes you get lucky on buying parts at great prices. With all the commies shopping eBay for other items sometimes auctions for gun parts go really reasonably.
I made my own for my Ruger .357 Blackhawk. Spalted Birdseye Ambrosia Maple. Yes, they are mesmerizing.
Is your Blackhawk 357 alone or the convertible 9MM and 357 Mag?
I like the looks of the blued 4.62 convertible 9 and 357.
I wish I had more cash. I’ll stick with the 22 LR WMR convertible for now.
Any pics of your grips? Maybe Kim can collect pics via email if they can’t be posted directly by us and do a gun porn post one day.
I actually prefer ivory over staghorn. I could even live with those plastic ones, Ruger logo and all, but not for that price.
Inherited my three-screw single six with both cylinders (6 & 1/2 inch barrel) from the estate of a late shootin’ buddy. And yes, it is overdue for a range trip, as am I.
