Well, if societal pressure and/or the Gummint all say that you can’t have air conditioning during one of the worst heatwaves in living memory, then you can always rely on !Science! to provide an alternative:
Scientists claim applying YOGHURT to the outside of your windows can cool your home by as much as 3.5°C

Oh wait…
The idea is that the yoghurt forms a thin film on the window, reflecting some of the incoming solar radiation, and preventing heat from passing through.
You know who’s really going to go for this idea?

[checks calendar] Nope, it isn’t April 1st.
FFS.
Which is double stupid because we have solar screens and solar film, have had that for decades. I mean, it’s no substitute for a good A/C, but it does help reduce the electric bill. But motherfucking yogurt? I mean, just use aluminum foil for that matter.
Um ok – so
– gas is around 4 bucks a gallon in Massachusetts right now
– oil is around 5 per gallon
– natural gas converted to equivalent of per gallon is around .34 cents to 1 dollar depending if it’s piped in or delivered to a tank
Average cost of yogurt is 8 bucks to 28 per gallon depending on brand and type (whipped, Greek, regular , different flavors etc)
From a pure cost standpoint this is literally a waste of money. Might as well light your wallet on fire.
Don’t even get me started on the hygiene of lack there of from spreading yogurt on your house.

# WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK?
# FUCK THE LIBERALS
I’m also waiting to read Ghost Sniper’s response to this post and article. I really enjoy his posts. I can’t wait to read what he has to say about this complete fucking insanity if he is willing to post and has time.
what credentials do these “experts” have? They’re giving us more proof that the “education” system has failed every time they release these absurd studies.
the yoghurt forms a thin film on the window, reflecting some of the incoming solar radiation, and preventing heat from passing through.
SOME? How much is some? What percentage? Are they relying on the bodies of the insects eating the Yogurt to reflect the heat? How long does that last with the bugs eating the film?
If they are relying on reflective films, why not aluminum foil as Don Curton said? It has to be on the outside, because once it’s inside the glass, getting it out again is a job for the Air Conditioning.
There are many translucent paints out on the market, did these geniuses (genii?) consider that or were they tasked with finding an absurd method for the Hoi Polloi to follow? Is there some surplus of Yogurt we don’t know of?
I want the name of every one who worked on this “solution”, and I want to know if their names EVER appear in the organization charts of any agency, or NGO, or corporation or other business form that purports to issue environmental or economic regulations or suggestions of any variety. Revoking their degrees back to and including promotion from Preschool into Kindergarten is not excessive.
Maybe it should extend to reviewing their Apgar scores.
Cosmic, man, Cosmic.
