Checkpoint

From Loyal Friend & Reader John C. comes this:

See, what gets up my nose about this is that when Gummint puts up signs, there needs to be clarity above all things.

Take that “requirement” addendum, for instance.  Is that a 2-gun minimum per car, or a 2-gun minimum per occupant?  This ambiguity certainly leaves the interpretation up to the supervising official, and I’d hate to run afoul of state law just because of the lack of clear signage.

My advice, therefore, is for people to carry at least two guns per person when they visit Texas.  Or anywhere else, for that matter.

  1. Or is it a requirement that at least 2 guns are present at the checkpoint at any one time, including in the possession of the people running the checkpoint.

  2. Sorry, no one gets to say anything about what I possess.

If one doesn’t already exist, I’d create a turn around point in front of them criminal signs.

      1. Now if they handed out free guns for those who don’t meet the requirements…

      2. My comment was mainly about the checkpoint part.

        2 guns min?

The more the merrier I always say!

  3. Here’s the kicker: if you don’t have the 2-gun minimum, they will lend you some until you can afford to buy your own. Sort of a lending library.

Sorry, all the Staccato’s are checked out, but we can offer you a .40 Glock 22 with a couple of double-stack mags to hold you over until you can get the gun of your choice. This can be picked up at any Buc-ees and please enjoy a complimentary brisket sandwich and a Dr. Pepper on us!

  4. And keep in mind the proper response when an officer asks if you have any firearms in your vehicle: “Sure officer, what do you need?”.

    1. That may be better than mine: “Oh gawd, yes. Why, have you lost yours?”

  5. I liked the old woman joke.

Cop pulls old lady over and asks are there any weapons in the car.

Old lady says there sure are.

Cop asks what they are and where,

Old lady says 45 in glove box, AR in back seat and Scatter gun in Trunk.

Cops says what are you scared of?

Old Lady responds not a damn thing.

would respond that there only tools in the vehicle. But I’m weird that way.
