Re: the herd of pigs meme – I grew up in Washington state, where we had a one-term governor named Dixy Lee Ray. A straight-up honest broad with little tolerance for bullshit. Lived in a double wide on Fox Island and drove an XKE.
Among her diversions on the island was raising swine. When one of her sows littered, she named each member of the litter after state legislators she particularly disliked, and then had sausages made from that litter served to their namesakes at a state function.

I heard anecdotally at the time how she advised a reporter to “Go fuck yourself with a chainsaw.” That’s never been confirmed as far as I know. But it’s among my favorite epitets, which I always credit to DLR.
