  7. Not a caption … there is some interesting history behind these roofed basements … there were lots of them at one point. If I recall, it had something to do with returing G.I.’s after WWII and the money to build running out. Damn it, now I have to go look it up.

    1. When I was a kid (now 70) we knew some people who lived in one of those basement houses. The plan was to eventually build the rest of the house.
