Swinging Sixties

…and I’m not talking about granny-swapping at the retirement home, either.

Earlier in the week, I referred to the “Swinging 60s” in talking about the late Jane Birkin, and I found her pics in a long-forgotten pic folder of similar totties.  So why not show them?  After all, they make a great review of what the latter half of that decade was all about.

  1. Ms. Pallenberg brought to mind a useful ’60’s classification … “Hotties Mick Jagger Has/Has Not F**ked”
I couldn’t get that out of my mind when looking down the rest of your choice selection. Tough choice between Julie Christie and Charlotte Rampling … pure beauty vs. potential kink.

  2. Sorry, that ain’t Sally Geeson. I tried to upload a pitcher but couldn’t.

  3. I’m normally a guy that likes short curvy women. But, back in the 1970s I ran across Charlotte Rampling and just couldn’t stop looking. She always got naked in every movie she was in and I went looking for them. There is something incredibly provocative about her. You can see it in the picture above. I saw her recently in the movie “Red Sparrow.” She’s in her 70s now but her face and her presence are still striking. Just saying.

  4. Seriously, Twiggy? You could drop her through a pipe 2” wider than her waist and not touch the sides. One of the stronger arguments for fashion designers haring actual women.

I started making memories that stick in the 1970’s (brown in’61), and spent the decade listening to people rave about how great the ‘60’s were. When I started to dig, I also started to form my belief that we remember the culture of eras past so fondly because, mercifully, we don’t actually remember that much of them.

I’ll give the ‘60’s credit for the Beatles, some cute babes, and the beginnings of the career of Tom Wolfe. It was also the decade when the Progressive Establishment established the policies that destroyed the Black family structure in the U.S. , and undermined the more enlightened leaders in the Islamic world in favor of the nuts. Three Progressive Presidents in a row (JFK, LBJ, and Nixon) created the Federal bloat we are still laboring under today, and the inflationary spiral that landed on Carter (he gets the blame, and certainly didn’t help, but it ain’t his).
