Don’t Care

O woe is Minneapolis:

If you want to know what the real-time self-destruction of a city looks like, Minneapolis offers the perfect model. This is no Detroit-esque collapse prompted by the degeneration of an industry-dependent metropolis. This is the willful push down the path of ruin of a city burgeoning with opportunity and rife with promises of the American Dream. It is suicide.

Instead of looking to successful policies used to counter that crime wave—increasing the number and presence of law enforcement officers for several months—the Minneapolis City Council wants to do the exact opposite.

For a far-left Minneapolis City Council at war with its police force and local citizens yet maintaining control due to leftist activism and special interests, the answer may be in the blind devotion to the radical belief of constantly burning and building into the unattainable utopia they so hubristically believe they can create.

Let the whole place lie in deserted ruins after riots, mayhem and fires have destroyed it;  they voted for it, they supported it, and now they’re going to get it — in Mencken terms — good and hard.

So much for “Minnesota nice”;  “Minnesota idiocy” would be more appropriate.  They don’t deserve our sympathy, our support or our best wishes, especially when you see this, and  bullshit like this happens.  I’d say “Fuck ’em”, but they’ve fucked themselves already.

  1. Garrison Keilor the grifter pushed “Minnesota nice” and rubbed shit in the middle classes face for decades on NPR and promptly fled Minneaoplis and the DFL utopia he helped create for the greener pastures of DeBlasio’s NYC. Hopefully he will personally enjoy some cultural enrichment of the vibrant kind soon.

  2. Yeah! I agree – totally. Let them live in the houses they’ve allowed to be pulled down around their ears. But under a Biden/Harris administration, I get the nasty suspicion that you, me, and everyone else is going to pay for the rebuild of all those cities destroyed by the Antifa and BLM mobs.

  3. I read this rather revealing Federalist article yesterday.

It’s amazing to see progressives destroy their own city as much as they and their policies have done In Minneapolis .

The boys at Power Line cover the digression of Minneapolis into a Lord of the Flies state rather well.

One would almost have to look to NYC , San Francisco or my own place of birth (and Garden of Eden to the rest of our Republic), East St. Louis, Illinois.

About 15-20 years ago, Minneapolis hosted the Super Bowl, the Final Four and a couple of other large sporting events, and all I heard about it from the media was how it represented all that was good about our country’s way of life and beneficence.

My only problem with all of this inanity at this point, though, is that we’re full here in Tennessee.

  4. My experience with the people in Minnesota was three years of living in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities, 1986-89 and the people were indeed nice. Nice is not friendly and it took me a couple of years to figure that out since I was in management in charge of stores in various cities and I had a culture clash with those folks. At one point a man I worked with took me aside, he was from a different state like me and he told me that I needed to wake up because I was still thinking I was making friends with my employees and they indeed were nice to me but they were ready to ‘throw me under the bus’ anytime they did not get their way which happened from time to time because efforts to increase efficiency and profit in underperforming stores tended to hurt their feelings.

Same thing with my neighbors and folks at church, lots of nice going on but we were outsiders and in 1989 I when I was fed up and sold my snow blower and moved to Dallas I felt as if I could breath again. No matter who I was dealing with and came into contact with the folks were friendly, I went from a culture that was 95% white nice people in Minnesota to an incredible mix of friendly folks in Dallas. Those Minnesota folks deserve to reap what they have sown when they have reduced their police force and embraced bat-shit crazy and it’s not going to be nice.

  5. Ahhhh but the time will come and come soon that Minneapolis and other socialist citys / states will be howling, screeching and begging for the federal government to bail them out of their leftist disaster.
Sadly the leftists, socialists, etc will be in charge in DC and they will happily borrow more and more money to “save” the crumbling communist utopias.
Meanwhile, China is giggling in anticipation of the US’s certain collapse.

    Did they really?

Kim, with all due respect – considering what we have just seen, I can’t accept any elected Democrat as legitimate. Since we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they will steal the highest office in the land, I only presume that most local Democrat offices were stolen as well.

  7. I automatically translate ‘leftist’ or ‘progressive’… to MARXIST.

If you look at MARXIST goals of depopulation and creating a MARXIST utopia of everybody and everything controlled by MARXISTS, the Minnesota example is proceeding according to plan.

From the outside, the place looks like a disaster.
To MARXISTS, that is beauty and goodness… and inevitable.
