Old Man Crush #305

Have I ever mentioned before just how infatuated I am with actress Laura Linney?  For one thing, she’s an excellent actress quite deserving of a star on Hollywood Boulevard:

…and then, of course, we get to the strawberry-blonde hair, fine body and OMG those exquisite dimples:

Woof.

Readers without failing memories may recall that she played Abigail Adams in the excellent HBO mini-series John Adams — and all I can say is that if the real-life Abigail was half as beautiful as Laura, it’s a miracle that ol’ John ever got to Philadelphia.

Compare And Contrast

Here we see two hotties (of different vintages) wearing somewhat startling outfits to a social occasion:

Paige Spirinac (29), to some party of glitterati:

…and Catherine Zeta-Jones (52), to a wedding (!):

Now I would have no problem with this latest “see-through” fashion trend, until it spreads to women like… (no names, no outbreaks of mass vomiting).

I do care about my Readers’ tender sensibilities…

Happy 50th, Ziggy

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the release of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album (I couldn’t be bothered to type out the whole title).

I’ve written about the influence of David Bowie before, so I’m not going to repeat it, other than to say that nobody — nobody — was playing any music quite like he was.  And Aladdin Sane was pretty damn wonderful, too.

Anyway, all that was to show you this rather startling comparison:

So what do these two have in common?

Well, everything.  They’re the same person: Brit TV personality Kate Garraway, who is also at the half-century mark or thereabouts.

The Bowie influence just reaches everywhere, dunnit?

3 Inexplicable Things

…in this case, three older women I still have impure thoughts about:

Caroline Quentin (64)

Never a great looker, but for some reason I always had a thing for her, starting with Jonathan Creek all the way through Blue Murder.  And she’s never let her dumpy figure get in the way of her career, or self-esteem. My kinda gal.

Jean Smart (71)

Fell in love with her during the Designing Women  days, never lost it.  One of the sexiest voices of all time, and even though she’s from Seattle, she speaks Dixie with the best of them.  And she inhabits every role she plays, ergo  all those acting awards.  The interesting thing is that she never really got to play the leading-lady femme-fatale  romantic roles, probably because at 5’11”, she towers over most Hollywood actors, and casting directors are morons.

And last, but by no means least:

Rita Wilson (66)

Yeah, Tom Hanks’s old lady.  Always had a slight thing for Greek chicks… and let’s not forget the freckled boob thing.

Pronouns

Read these two headlines — the first using standard pronoun terminology, the second the woke version — and see which one is more comprehensible.

So… being sexually exploited caused Doug Hutchison to get breast implants too?  I am SO confused…

Here are the objects in question, by the way:

I report, you decide.
