Following yesterday’s post about China (and Xi), I see that I’m not the only one who considers them the enemy, for a different reason:
Even if Chinese technological theft is less frequent in Europe than in the United States —there is far less technology to steal from Europe than from the US — it is nevertheless all too present.
The practice follows what the current director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, long ago called the business model of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP): “Rob, Replicate, Replace.” They steal the technology and know-how for a product, copy it, then flood it back into the marketplace at a far lower price, thereby putting the product’s original manufacturers out of business. When the CCP believes its hold on the market share has been consolidated into something resembling a monopoly, the prices go back up.
And there it is: implacably hostile, amoral, brutal and intent on spreading Marxism (and their control) over the entire world.
As New Wife would put it: Not our kind, dear. Even their “Three Rs” aren’t the same as ours.
People always wonder why I try to avoid anything made in China. I do NOT want to support their economy, and especially all the counterfeit goods coming out of there.
And when I tell them that they get angry I’d call stuff from Chinese companies counterfeits, them claiming it’s all just “inspired by western products” (even though being carbon copies…).
After I retired from the Navy, I briefly worked as a SES-equivalent CTO for a government-sponsored private entity (yeah, it’s a thing). Their offices were in a building complex owned by Virginia Tech and it had dozens of “offices” for VT related data research programs. I marveled at the fact that no matter how late I stayed, the Chinese grad students and post-docs always stayed later. I would eventually discover that they were literally downloading all the University’s research files onto massive portable hard drives and humping them offsite every night, only to return and do the same thing the next day. I made a note of this to one of the program managers for VT and they said not only was this done with the permission of the University, it was encouraged and rewarded.
Doesn’t surprise me in the least. The university no doubt gets massive financial injections from the Chinese equivalent of the CIA and DIA.
Just as they get the same from the Qatari government.
Of course all properly siphoned through an almost impossible to untangle web of shell companies and charities.
China is at war with us. Full stop. Has been since the indo china fiascos.
It is more insidious as it is undeclared, but they want to be on top. Until we realize that and with our open society they will steal anything not tied down. And they will take secured stuff as soon as they can. I was startled to see how much there current rockets mirrored Space X’s rockets.
Until we wake up they will be trying to knock us down.

McCarthy was right. He may have gone about things wrong, but he was right that the State Department was (and still is) heavily infested with communist agitators.
