Back in the Long Ago, the band I was in during high school had a “lottery” of songs the priests and nuns had chosen as “acceptable” to play at our high school dance. This was one of them.
We opted out and chose “I Woke Up In Love This Morning” by the Partridge Family.
Banned…again. Father Francis said it was about morning wood. Father Francis would just a few short months later, ride off on his Honda 550 with Sister Mary Angelica to open a holistic health food store in Ponca City, OK. I guess he knew something about morning wood, since they wound up having 5 kids.
