He’s just announced that he PLANS to step down as party leader and may, once a new party leader is installed at some point in the unspecified future, hand over power to that person.

Britain is cooked. This isn’t the country of Churchill, Haggard, Kipling, Disraeli, Pitt, Palmerston etc anymore. Either their masculine breeding stock was destroyed on the fields of Loos, Somme, Dunkirk, etc, and took those genetics out of the pool.

Eventually you end up with a populace too lazy, apathetic, weak, & incapable of saying “enough is enough” let alone do anything about it, whilst the britgov ignores the put-upon portion of the populace, because “We have good curry now.”
I think we yanks still think of Britain as Thatcherite Britain, weakened, but still trying. It appears they have stopped trying.
I’ve listened to a lot of noise about how the Britgov needs to stop the small-boats coming over from France, with the response of, “you can’t”. Don’t you still have the fucking Royal Navy (at least in some form)? Put a naval picket line in the channel and machine gun any small boats within British waters. The small boats will stop after the first 4 or 5 serve as an example.
Britain used to be a proper country. And we owe so much too them. Its like watching your Grandfather get hooked on fentanyl (I was going to say hooked on meth, but meth users are at least active).
