  1. Heard it too. But the diagnosis and treatment happened long enough ago I think we can assume he survived or
    a) we’d have heard about his death by now and
    b) I doubt they’d have aired that clip in the show without making a statement

Hope Jezza is well, he’s a force for good in a bleak world.

  2. He’s got the sort of money that he can bypass NHS and get real treatment.

I assume that private medicine in the UK is roughly up to snuff with US medicine in that area.

I know a lot of you don’t like doctors, but there’s a handful of cancers that are easy to catch early, and if caught early you stand a good chance of beating. Colon cancer is the easiest–get your ass scoped every 3-5 years after 50 and they can cut out any pre-cancerous polyps they find while they’re in there. People complain about the prep, but 24 hours of the runs? Pffff. I had dysentary twice. That was WAY worse.

Skin cancer is another one. Just let the doctor take a good look from head to toe once every year or two. Catch it early enough and the treatment (at least in my case) is a cream you rub on in the morning for 6 or 8 weeks.

Prostate cancer is a *little* worse–but if you get a PSA test every year, a sudden increase indicates a problem, and they can get a biopsy early.

Yeah, there’s things in modern medicine that went wrong–the mRNA “vaccine” was one of them for sure. But there’s a LOT that goes right.

  3. I love Clarkson’s Farm, and the people on it, and find this news devastating. I survived (17 years now) aggressive (Gleason 8) prostate cancer because it was caught early. Let’s pray Clarkson’s cancer hasn’t metastasized.

    1. In his own words “I’ve smoked roughly a half-million cigarettes in my life, I’ve got teeth the colour of wood”

I’m hoping he pulls through. He’s the last Brit alive who seems to have retained the arch-British dry humour (spelled with a “u” as an homage). As well as one who doesn’t act like a screeching leftist.

A national treasure for GBR will be lost if he goes.

  4. The heart thing…in Ep1 of Season 5…was Fall/Winter 2024, the final two episodes were July/August 2025…as others have said, since he has excellent personal funding he is able to bypass the lousy NHS and get the best care, especially as he suggested this was caught early. Lastly, 10 months ago and he is still with us, best we can tell. God speed Mr. Clarkson.

    1. Yup, and even the NHS knows how to treat more common things like colon and prostrate cancer if caught early.

IF you get through their bureaucratic nightmares and are lucky to be with a halfway decent trust they’re pretty proficient.
Problem is the bureaucracy, and the few really bad hospitals that give the entire system a horrible reputation.

Dutch healthcare is somewhat similar. Few horrible hospitals give the entire system a bad rep.
And chronic underfunding on top of it, something the NHS also suffers from, and both because a way too high percentage goes to bureaucrats.

  5. Watched the entire series, the initial surgery in August failed to get rid of the cancer. Season ends with him back in hospital for more cancer treatment on the tune of Monty Python’s “Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life”.

I DO expect there to have been an announcement had he died, but there hasn’t been and that was some 9 or 10 months ago.
Life expectancy seems to be at least 5-10 years after diagnosis even if initial treatment fails.
