I know I’ve featured the art of Alan Fearnley many, many times before, but I’m hopelessly, passionately in love with it.
Indeed, if someone were to tell me that I could only put his paintings on my walls, I’d have no problem with it. (New Wife, however…)


Then I found something a little different, from his “picnic” series:

Right cheeky, that is.
I’ve never heard of him before. His works are impressive. They don’t sell for a lot – a few hundred to at most a few thousand $. But I gather he’s done very well on prints, calendars, and such.
He was born in 1942, so several of the works above are “retro”; an interesting choice. Also, he apparently did a series of paintings about the American Civil War – a surprising subject for a modern British painter.
