Quote Of The Day

“Being single isn’t the easiest thing in the world but it’s objectively better than going to bed beside someone who you hope stops breathing in the middle of the night.” – Daniel Sloss

I don’t know who Daniel Sloss is, but I like the way he thinks.  If only I’d realized this when I was in my 20s…

  1. “…going to bed beside someone who you hope stops breathing…”

How in the world does someone allow theirself to get into such a position? It didn’t happen instantly. There were at least a few steps prior that led to that end. I guess this is a result of a lack of self reflection and not paying attention?

Next month will mark 43 years we’ve been together. 42 years of marriage and a year of living together to make sure we wouldn’t wake up next to someone we wish wasn’t breathing.

You wouldn’t buy a ride without test driving it first would you?

    The 2 most difficult parts?
    1. communication
    2. money

Number 1 is the most difficult because as my brother once told me, “Remember boy, they don’t think like we do.”

    1. People change. Usually the changes are small and occur over time, but they’re there and they add up. Sometimes the couple can change together and can maintain the relationship. Other times they change in ways that takes them apart.
