Roost, Chickens Coming Home To

It is, as they say, to LOL:

Gun control politicians, long in control in the Empire State, have passed so many restrictions on law-abiding New Yorkers to exercise their constitutional rights that far too many simply give up out of frustration. Those roadblocks, in essence, deny New Yorkers their ability to keep and bear arms and, at a time when many rush to licensed gun retailers, the backlogs and bottlenecks can be jarring— especially for first-time buyers. Erecting barriers to the exercise of Second Amendment rights to frustrate citizens into just giving up is the intent of this regulatory scheme.

And now?

Gun permit applications are skyrocketing. Prior to the Bruen decision, on average, fewer than 100 law-abiding New York City residents each month applied for a permission slip to carry a firearm in the city for self-protection. There was a surge during the coronavirus pandemic and a post-Bruen surge, with the monthly average reaching 600 before stabilizing at between 400 to 500 for a consistent stretch, according to data from the New York State Police Department. Following the October 7 terrorist attacks in Israel, the next month permit applications reached an all-time high at more than 1,270 — led by Jewish New Yorkers who decided to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Since then, an average of 700–800 permit applicants attempt the process each month, all just to exercise a God-given right enshrined in the Constitution.

But New York still has in place restrictions that make it overly burdensome, time-consuming and difficult for law-abiding New Yorkers to purchase a firearm — a process that can take up to a year or longer. That includes a rigorous firearm training and safety course despite the fact that “New York hasn’t standardized the classes beyond outlining a handful of topics to touch on.”

That makes it extremely difficult for would-be firearm purchasers to go to their neighborhood firearm retailer and go home with a safe and reliable self-defense tool.

Extremely difficult?  Try impossible.

I can’t get worked up about this, because the people who are being inconvenienced are for the most part the people who voted for the politicians and bureaucrats who actively built and maintained this situation in the first place.

So fuck off, you New York assholes.  You created this problem;  now you get to live with the consequences.  You don’t need a gun (you told us smugly for decades and decades) because you have the police to protect you.

Well, good luck with that.

That’s probably not what’s happening, but rather the opposite.

The people that voted for those politicians have no inclination to possess a firearm and scorn others that do.

The people that do want to possess a firearm either vote republican or don’t vote at all, but their votes are outnumbered by the communists every.dam.time.

    1. Agree with the above comment from Ghost sniper 100 percent

In Massachusetts they passed some new bullshit in 2024. It comes in in phases. Registration. New sensitive areas (can’t carry in a town hall or city buildings where administration takes place unless that city council in each town votes to allow it), new list of guns that may or may not be allowed. New training requirements. And more. None of this does a fucking thing to stop crime.

Of course the crooked fake news says hey this is to stop those scary gh gh ghost guns and give police more tools to combat “gun violence”. The stupid bitches in the news , many of whom probably are liberal and probably who are stupid but sucked the right cock or cocks to get a job spread the commie agenda with a smile.

The criminals don’t give a fuck about these laws. So more Laws will stop
Crime? The politicians know better they just only want the police to have guns so the govt has a monopoly on control. It is all about control.

I hope someday the Supreme Court steps in to fix more of this but I’m not holding my breath.

Likely to fix this bullshit is going to take a 2nd American revolution.

Food stamps got put back in 2 weeks and those losers who won’t work are still crying.

For years gun rights have been violated and the music keeps playing.

The only thing to do before the true fix happens is if you see a liberal idiot being beaten raped etc watch point and laugh. Don’t help them. They don’t like guns or violence remember

  2. Mandani is provided a security detail by the NYPD allegedly. And before that reports online said he paid for private security. I wonder if his security has guns?

    I’m guessing yes?

I’m sure he’s all for New Yorkers gun rights. Probably a lover of the constitution.

    # WTF

  3. Brings to mind the differences between New York and Florida. About fifteen years ago, here in Boca Raton, There was a city sponsored charity event based on the “Roaring Twenties” My employer and his wife dressed up in period clothing and were going to drive his ’39 Cadillac convertible coupe to the event. I brought my Thompson for them to use as a prop. We all went over to city hall to meet with the mayor previous to the event. My employer introduced me to the mayor and I was holding the Thompson. I said to the mayor “Don’t worry, I didn’t bring any ammunition.” The mayor responded “Thanks, I didn’t bring any bodyguards.”

    1. If that had happened here in Texas when Rick Perry was the governor, he’d have offered you a box of .45 ACP from his stash.

  4. Many people in blue states do not vote for these atrocious politicians yet are still burdened by these evil policies. Far too many right thinking people have fled these areas to resettle in Free America. I don’t want to flee. This is where the fight is. Fleeing does not vanquish evil.

    1. I’m on the fence. I don’t want to flee. But when I retire in 20 years I might have no choice. I’m young now in my 40s but if this bullshit is the same or worse in 20 years I’m leaving.

      GET OUT.

I skedaddled 21 years ago, and never looked back. As our host Kim once advised, (approximate quote from memory) ~Blue America hates you, and Red America needs you.~

  5. New York state isn’t *that* big. What’s stopping these new, would-be gun owners from driving to a neighboring state with less restrictive gun laws (assuming any of NYs neighbors *have* less restrictive gun laws) and stocking up there?

    1. Federal Law. Unlike when I was a lad, you cannot just buy a gun through the mail. Unless it is a private sale, you have to take possession from a dealer in your home state.
