STFU FOP

Here’s one snippet guaranteed to raise my ire:

The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), together with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), sent a letter to Congress urging them to reject national reciprocity for concealed carry.

The legislation, H.R. 38, is sponsored by Rep. Richard Hudson (R) and would treat the concealed carry license of any one state as valid in the other 49.

H.R. 38 is titled the “Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act.”

According to the FOP/IACP, “The legislation exempts any person with a valid photographic identification from state or local firearms law who asserts that they are lawfully carrying a firearm under the laws of their own state of residence.”

They claimed that national reciprocity for concealed carry would impact officers’ safety, and it “jeopardizes qualified immunity.” Concerning the latter, they wrote, “Qualified immunity protects officers from civil liability unless they violate clearly established statutory or constitutional rights. Any action the officer may take in reaction to the knowledge that the person they have encountered is armed could place that officer in very real legal peril.”

Yeah, well fuck you.  If a state-issued driver’s license is valid (under the Constitution ahem), then so should firearms carriage, if it’s lawful in the traveler’s home state.

Basically, what your organizations are saying is that you cops should be the only ones carrying guns.

Sorry, but that’s not how it works.  Under the same Constitution — which, lest you pricks have forgotten, is something you swore to uphold and protect, despite the possibility of personal danger — We The People have the right to keep and bear arms.   Whether in their home state or not, and whether or not it frightens you.

The fact that some states (and their little minions) behave contrary to the Constitution is irrelevant, and your pathetic fear of armed citizens ditto.

As a general rule, I’m on the side of law and order, but not when it comes to my rights.  So STFU cops, and your bosses likewise.  (Just the word “International” in the chiefs’ organization title grates on me.)

And lastly, you bastards have been abusing your “qualified immunity” for too long anyway, and you deserve to lose it.

  1. well said!! The Chiefs of Police are usually political appointees and like most bureaucrats, they are largely incompetent and have bad ideas

  2. I must have missed the part of the constitution that stated

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” UNLESS / EXCEPT

    – You are traveling across imaginary lines (States)
    – You come to a magical PUBLICLY TAXPAYER FUNDED Federal building, post office or school
    – You come to a city or town in a state without a pre emption law
    – You have a gun that looks scary or holds too many boo lits

Onto the Police. I don’t agree with the BLM however “even a broken watch is right twice a day”. FUCK THE POLICE and DEFUND THE POLICE.

The police are scared? Of what? More law abiding citizens having guns? That’s the story they are saying

Really what I think is happening here is the POLICE ARE LOSING THEIR CONTROL. The police are stacked with a majority of people working for them where they fucking love the control over others. Violating rights in the name of “officer safety” and “public safety” and then claim “qualified immunity” when they knowingly or unknowingly (usually knowingly) deprive someone of their rights.

    FUCK THE POLICE.

They chose this job and they know the dangers. It is not even the most dangerous job on the planet by any means anyways.

That pesky constitution. Always getting in the way of peasants exercising their rights

To the tyrants, the Constitution might as well read “Shall not be infringed” unless we deem we want to control you in some way.

And to continue on with the “DEFUND THE POLICE” movement, we should also DEFUND THE GOVERNMENT. BRING THE SHUT DOWN BACK.

Any gun owner who says they “back the blue” or “support enforcement either verbally, with stickers on their vehicle or any other way is fucking retarded and is a BOOT LICKER.

Last time I renewed my permission slip for guns in the commie wealth of Massachusetts, they told me I had to come in for fingerprints again! For like the 3rd fucking time. What the fuck happened to the ones in the system? Who knows. And more importantly, why are gun owners in ANY state having to submit fingerprints to the same system that tracks CRIMINALS? Gun owners are treated like criminals.

Governors, Senators, Reps, POLICE etc, ANYONE who violates the 2nd amendment or any other rights of citizens should be jailed for life. If a law is deemed a violation of rights, the politician should do life in prison for treason. But the police won’t arrest them. What did Darth Vader once say? “What is thy bidding my master”.

    # DEFUND THE GOVERNMENT WHICH INCLUDES DEFUNDING THE POLICE
    # IF YOU DON’T LIKE GUN RIGHTS THEN GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE COUNTRY YOU GESTAPO SCUM!
    # FUCK TYRANTS
    # KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY

  3. Forgot to mention above.

I would of course want to see HR 38 pass congress and be signed by the President. However. That’s the double edged sword.

Next time there is a liberal or rino regime they will tout public safety and say something must be done even if it saves just one life.

The regime will then overturn this with the swipe of a pen.

The modern day red coats do and will continue to enjoy violating citizens rights.

Also not too impressed with Pam Bondi. She looks lovely but she’s not doing too great with restoring violated rights. Also she and the current regime are arguing before the courts currently that people who smoke or use weed products should not be able to own guns. That’s where is all starts. I don’t smoke or use any kind of weed but next up will be soda and coffee drinkers cuz evil caffeine. Or alcohol. Or fatsos who eat fast food. It’s a slippery slope.

    1. If anything can be gleaned from NYSRPA v Bruen, it’s that no matter what SCOTUS says, anti-2A governments (local, state, and federal) will continue to do what they damn well please when they craft gun control legislation.

“You don’t like it? Well, take us to court and MAYBE SCOTUS will rule in your favor in a few years. Meantime, it’s the law of the land.”

If HR 38 does pass, I fully expect some states (Hawaii’s “Spirit of Aloha” for example) will continue to dump on out-of-state gun toters. (We’ll have reciprocity as soon as the Legislature passes it.)

  4. Basically, what your organizations are saying is that you cops should be the only ones carrying guns.

When only the police are armed, we are – by definition – a police state. If law enforcement’s “qualified immunity” is so brittle that reciprocity vis-à-vis the LAW ABIDING threatens it, that’s all the evidence we need to show it’s been a steaming pile of dogshit from the jump.

  5. Prof. John Lott said in his book, “More Guns, Less Crime” that you are 13 times MORE likely to be shot by a law enforcement officer than a fellow citizen.

If anyone should be restricted from possessing firearms it is gov’t employees.

When I moved here to Indiana 20 years ago I immediately got a concealed carry permit like I had in Florida for 40 years. 5 years later I upped it to a lifetime license. 3 years ago they changed the law to where no permit is needed. As it should be everywhere.

For 91 years, since 1934, gun control in the US has been in violation of the Constitution.

  6. Just a reminder that concealed carry permit holders are roughly 10 times more law abiding than the police. National reciprocity is long overdue.

That said, I do not agree with the FTP sentiments stated above. They do an important job and are necessary and in most places most of them do it well. They tend to reflect their communities though, so leftist hell holes tend to have incompetent and corrupt police (amd everything else). That is a reason for reform, not attacking an idea or individuals who do their job well.

  7. The police do not do their job Well

    Massachusetts most recent examples

    – Karen Read trial. What a joke. She was innocent. What the police and govt put her through was bullshit

    – Sandra Birchmore. – murdered. Read about this one. It’s fucking dirty. Initially
    Was ruled suicide

    – Kyle Culotta – veteran arrested for the crime of having a gun. Isn’t having a gun covered under 2A ?

    – mass state police overtime scandal. Many troopers making 200,000 grand or more a year total half of that overtime. And they never showed up to earn the money. Our tax money at work. No jail
Time for some. What a joke.

    – pay to play trucker driver license scheme which included bribery to put many dangerous truckers on the roads who should not have had a cdl license

  8. Recently a few weeks ago I was in an accident. Some cunt bag who was turning left on green decides she had right of way when I was turning right on green. She was wrong. What did the police do? No ticket given to her. Then the police asked me why she didn’t hit any other cars. (Her right side front bumper hit my left side rear door. ). – then I asked the police are you going to write a report? Answer. No. This doesn’t look like $ 1,000 in damage. Then the police man said “it’s just cosmetic damage I wouldn’t worry about it”

Guess what? Vehicle is at body shop now. Door replacement and bumper refinish among other things.

Another time. A woman cut into my lane no blinker. Solid line she was in a turning lane. She cut into my lane and almost hit me. I locked my brakes and honked. Cop was watching traffic from a nearby parking lot. He whips out comes up next to me. Yells at me to roll down window. Asks me what I’m doing. I told him I was almost hit didn’t you see it? He said I was honking my horn and should not have been. I said she Almost hit me didn’t you see? He says yes I saw but she didn’t hit you so move along or I’ll write you a ticket for excessive noise. He then said have a good night. I told him to have a shitty night and drove off. What a cock sucker.

I’ve been rear ended at a full stop 4 times in the last 3 years. 1 time totaled a car I was hit so hard. No tickets for anyone. – 2 people got warnings. How can I prevent being rear ended when I’m stopped at a light or stop sign?

Then the police make you get fingerprinted each and every time you renew a gun permit. And they all support these stupid Laws

How about many local police all over the country who do not help detain and assist with getting illegals immigrants off of our streets?

What did the police do when BLM and Antifa was running wild? Many January 6 protestors arrested and charged and jailed how many BLM and antifa were arrested and jailed? Was it the same
Or even nearly the same amount???

  9. www DOT goal DOT org/freekyle

Who made Kyle’s life miserable? The police and the politicians.

If after reading this article you still say you support the police I’m sorry but you are fucking stupid as a pile of Godamn rocks.

  10. My reaction after reading the FOP letter was “fuck you stormtrooper”. If you are too fragile to deal comfortably with a legally armed citizen, who statistically is likely to be as law abiding as a Nun, you might want to reassess your attitude and career choice. I wonder if there are many conservatives left who still believe that the police wont be active tools of the oppressor. I’m feeling a bit testy this morning, might have to go get a gyro to sooth my fevered brow.

  11. You nailed it Kim.

The question this brings up is just what percentage of people who swear to uphold and defend the Constitution have actually read it?

  12. I believe their real complaint, for many police departments, is that their current policies allow police to shoot you if they simply see a gun. They don’t want to verify anything first by asking questions. They prefer to shoot first and ask questions later, relying on immunity to protect them.

  13. @Teetotaller (and, really, everyone else, too): invest in a high-quality dashcam with both front and rear wide-angle 4K-resolution cameras if you can (the difference in detail is very real and can make reading a license plate seen from an angle in poor light much easier). A tiny, discreet camera to record interaction with the cops through the driver’s side window probably wouldn’t hurt, either, though all my experiences with cops have been very positive, even the time I was very much in the wrong.

Police vary greatly from place to place. My wife and I got stopped here in Plano, and I had my license and LTC in hand (both hands on steering wheel), and my lovely bride had her LTC out, as well. He asked if we were BOTH carrying, we said yes, and where they were (IWB on right hip for both of us), and he started chuckling. The cop was obviously an Indian immigrant (Sikh, based on his name, and probably a teen when his family immigrated as his English was extremely good, just a bit of accent), but he said we’d jusr made his whole day, and added that if more good people were armed, the world be a better place. Still chuckling, he let us off with a warning. I’d have to do some serious drugs to be able to imagine that happening in New York, New Jersey, or Massachusetts.

    1. That said, police chiefs of larger cities are almost without exception highly political animals in what are usually Democrat strongholds. And the leadership of pus-ridden national police organizations are no different, and usually state-level organizations. It would be worth it to charter the largest cruise ship possible and give every one those assholes a free vacation, then sink the fucker with enough charges (including one in each and every lifeboat and raft) that it goes down faster than the USS Indianapolis in 1945. Then chum the waters from the air.

  14. What is needed is for a majority of the Supremes to pull their heads out of each other’s asses and note in an official opinion that the words of Amendment Two are the Supreme Law of the Land on the matter, and that all previous legislation on the matter is moot, and that only a conviction of a felony offense in a court of law can deprive an American of their Constitutional Rights, and that conviction must spell out which rights that American is to be deprived of and for how long – but not in any excess of sentence.
If the court wishes to deprive a citizen of a Constitutional Right for Life, they must sentence that citizen to a Life Sentence of imprisonment – fair is fair.
