I haven’t read the book yet, and I forget the title, but that was apparently the second time during that war that Jackson marched a small army south to New Orleans, but the first time resulted in Ol’ Hickory getting the britches whipped off’a him.
That is a statue of Simon Bolivar. I’m from New Orleans. Passed it a thousand times.
