Prancing Horseshit

Yeah, so Ferrari’s not-so-little Duracell car has been widely panned, e.g.:

..which is kinda what they did, I think.  (No pics because I refuse to be party to mass vomiting, y’all.)

Best comment is from a former Ferrari honcho:

“At least the Chinese won’t copy this car.”

As someone commented underneath:  “Somebody call the burn ward.”

For those looking for relative values:

And yes, I know they probably did it to bypass the EU’s version of our awful CAFE nonsense.  Don’t care.  The Loo-chay looks like shit — about the same as the new Jaguar Faerie model — and who the hell wants an overpriced kitchen appliance anyway?

I bet they sell a jillion because it’s Ferrari, and the tifosi arrivisti  have never been renowned for their brains.  They’re welcome to it.

Here’s the thing.  If someone pointed a gun at my head and said “Here’s half a million-odd euros, but you have to spend it on a Ferrari or we’ll kill you”, I’d spend it gladly.

But it would have to be a creditable threat.

In Comments:  which Ferrari would you buy under those circumstances?  (And for the last time:  I don’t care about your fucking ’64 F-100 or 2003  Adam  Toyota Corolla.  Play the game.)

Quote Of The Day

“In what has got to be the coolest job in the history of jobs, American firearms engineers took the belt-fed mechanism from a captured German MG42 and grafted it onto the action of an FG42 paratroop rifle.”

If that sentence did not give you just the slightest hint of a woody, we are not the same kind of people.

The full story is here.

Dropping Like Flies

Wow, the Trump Chicks are dropping like flies:

  • DHS chief Kristi Noem:  fired
  • Attorney General Pam Biondi: fired;  and now
  • DNI head Tulsi Gabbard (resigned, albeit for a very good reason — her husband has cancer and she needs to be with him).

What will be really interesting is to see who replaces Gabbard:  will DJT go with one of the establishment security people, or bring in an outsider like Tulsi was?  (I know:  her appointment was really a slap in the face of the agency which targeted her during the  Obama III  Biden years, and there’s nothing wrong with that.)

Dept. Of Righteous Shootings

And yet another asshole tries to break into a home, and discovers that it’s not a good thing to do in Texas:

A Hopkins County, Texas, homeowner spotted a would-be intruder via a Ring camera Tuesday and shot him as the suspect was allegedly reaching into the house via a broken window in the door.  The homeowner watched the man, Buck Clary, via the Ring camera.  The Sheriff indicated the camera video allegedly showed Clary hitting the front door “and screaming.”

Clary then broke a glass in the door and reached inside the house, which is when the homeowner shot through the door.

And now the good news:

Clary was struck and wounded.  Hopkins County EMT transported the wounded man to a hospital, where he died.

Okay, that’s all well and good.

But I think we should demand more informative stuff other than the “goblin killed by homeowner while trying to break in” storyline.

I’m looking for answers to fairly simple questions such as “What kind of gun did Our Hero use?”  If a 12ga shotgun, then all’s well and good because we all know what it’s capable of.

But what if he used a handgun?  Then we need to know what caliber bullet went through the door and did its deadly job thereafter?  And following on from that, “What kind of door (hollow, solid etc.)?” because that also would also help us decide what kind of doorbuster guns ‘n ammo we need if faced with such a scenario.

The damn Press needs to get its shit together, if you ask me.

There will be a followup post to this one, on a similar topic.  Watch this space.
