From Bradley Iger at MotorTrend:
“Politicians and automakers have discovered that trying to change the buying habits of Americans through legislation and a reduction of choice is a great way to alienate a substantial portion of the motoring public.”
Too bad the penalty for such “alienation” doesn’t include copious quantities of tar and feathers, but I’ll take what I can get.
Not that it ever discourages them from the repeated attempts.
Choosing an engine with vastly lower power output because you like loud noises is among the most American things ever.
Vastly? There’s only about a 5% difference in power. For most of us, it’s the difference between an engine with a proven 20+ year history vs the high strung turbo 6 in a 1st year configuration. The old ways are the best, and the old timers taught us to NEVER buy the first year model of anything.
