Of Course They Would

From Breitbart:

To hail the return of the 007 catalog of films, Amazon put out a graphic featuring a thumbnail image of every Bond film and the actor starring in them. But some fans noticed that there is something off about some of the photos.

It turns out that a few of the photos originally showed the actor holding his trusty semi-automatic pistol or some other firearm in his hand, but in the Amazon poster, the guns have been removed from the image, leaving 007’s hand posed in an odd position. Or in some cases, such as in the image for Spectre, Amazon just cropped the pistol out of the photo entirely.

I’m just amazed they didn’t likewise pussify the 007 logo:

Coming up in future 007 movies:  lesbian Jane Bond (license to whine);  Muslim Jamaal Bond (“ginger ale, Canada Dry, no ice”); and trannie Jo Bond (license to offend).  You heard it here first.

I wish I was joking, but in today’s world…

And here, for us trad Bond fans, the heritage posters of Bond showing not the slightest hint of trigger discipline:

Or, if not actually holding a gun, the pic cropped to suggest he might be fingering Ursula Andres (giving a whole new slant to the term “keeping your booger hook off the bang switch”):

Even ol’ Pierce Brosnan got in on the act:

Glorious.

Oh, and about the Amazon twerps who decided on the no-gun thing:  whoever came up with the idea should be laughed out of their jobs.

Update:  Oh hahahahaha… it appears that the gun-free posters have been removed, no doubt in response to comments like mine.

  1. The liberals running and working at many of the large companies need some serious medication and therapy.

I guess the liberals only like guns when they use them against conservatives. Otherwise they stick to the script of guns are bad.

  2. I wonder if it was done deliberately to boost publicity with the intention of withdrawing the images?

  3. He sed: “keeping your booger hook off the bang switch”.

    HA HA HA HA HAAAA

Anyway, a couple years ago, on a whim, I went on a campaign to acquire ALL of the 007 DVD’s (not blu-ray) and did just that, with the exception of one. I don’t remember the name of it right now, and I never saw it, but the one in the late 60’s that didn’t have Connery (David Niven?) in it and I believe it was a “fake” thing. That one, for some reason, was VERY expensive.

    1. Like you, I have them all on DVD except the one you mention which was casino royale 1967 and it was a spoof type film not part of the franchise, I believe as I have not seen it.

      1. It is a spoof. Sadly I HAVE seen it, it is dreadful. The soundtrack for it is a little catchy though.

          1. I saw it much, much later, on something like an ABC movie of the week or some such. We lived in a rural area and reruns of the type were rare.

I loved it. It made me long to live in a world that had long passed, and probably never existed anyway. I avoided the Bond franchise because I came of age during the dreadful Roger Moore era, and it was just too damn silly, even for my 13 year old brain. Connery on the other hand, just exuded rutheless tough guy.

  4. I, too, am very aware of trigger discipline (or, more commonly, the lack thereof) in promo posters & photos. It’s often the first thing I notice, even when there is a delectable person of the female persuasion sharing the image. Negligent discharges and sultry women can both be dangerous but the first is a more immediate concern. 😉

  5. I came to the Bond party late. Mother Preussenotto was a devout lady who thought the Bond movies were a bit too racy for her offspring.

Though before my time I like the scratchy artwork of the original Bond posters. It reminds me of a lot of the covers of pulp novels we had laying around the house, the ones the kids weren’t supposed to read.

    Father Preussenotto was less devout.

  6. And speaking of pussification, I have noticed a marked increase in shooty videos that I used to watch on YooToob , but that now require sign-in to verify age, which I refuse to do. Also many of my favorites with Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch.

The old ways are the best.

  7. I say we turn this crazy train around – every single actor, director, producer, cameraman, grip, and caterer that has EVER supported gun control is hereby and forever banned from ever working on any type of movie in which a gun is present, in any form or fashion. I know this will lock up about 99% of Hollywood, so really no downside that I can see.

  8. Guns are like:
horse manure, dog droppings, and any discussion of male-female coupling,
    just dirty, dirty, dirty.
We’ve become “Victorian” in our attitude towards guns.
Guns are now the equivalent of a man urinating in public.
Speaking of the total feminization of our country/society.
