I meant to comment on this little (non-)development earlier, but I forgot:
Becky Noble brought you the story in April about a proposed massive 400-plus acre development called “EPIC City” in East Plano, Texas, which some critics contend would be an exclusive Muslim-only community and would be governed by Sharia Law. (The backers deny these claims, but their promotional materials leave many questions about their true intent.)
EPIC stands for East Plano Islamic Center.
Lone Star state Gov. Greg Abbott said it’s not happening, at least not for the time being:
Texas has halted any construction of EPIC City.
There is no construction taking place.
The state of Texas has launched about a half dozen investigations into this project. That includes criminal investigations.
And, the US Department of justice is also investigating.
This matter, and similar matters, are taken very seriously, and actions are being taken to address all concerns.
Fuck me, even our crappy Senator John Cornyn is alarmed:
A master-planned “community of thousands of Muslims” could violate the constitutional rights of Jewish and Christian Texans, by preventing them from living in this new community and discriminating against them within the community. I further encourage the Department to investigate whether Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslim minorities would receive equal protection under the law in this new community. Religious discrimination, whether explicit or implicit, is unconstitutional under the First and Fourteenth Amendments. Religious freedom is a cornerstone of our nation’s values, and I am concerned this community potentially undermines this vital protection.
Everyone seems to be pussyfooting around this issue, using Constitutional concerns — which is fine and dandy — but it avoids the main issue, which is this:
Every time, every single time anywhere in the world that Muslims become a significant minority, bad things follow.
It has happened (and continues to happen) all over Africa, and the same is true in every Western nation where the local governments have allowed these fanatical bastards to set up shop. Mosques, “cultural” centers (like their pathetic medieval culture is worth promoting) and attempts to incorporate shari’a law into national law are all, simply put, a cancer on free societies.
Allowing these Muslims to create a Muslim-only enclave in Texas will do no good at all for the state of Texas. In fact, let me be even more blunt: if these assholes want to live in an area where Islam is predominant, they should feel free to do so in places like Pakistan, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran; not in the U.S., and definitely not in Texas.
And by the way: I think it’s time we looked at the First Amendment and inserted a little asterisk that says “Except for Islam”, because their malignant little death cult has no place in our free society.
Enough is enough.
I thought there was already an enclave in NY state like this. Dearborn, Michigan or another town in Michigan has already achieve this. Look at their representative, Ilhan Omar (D-Somalia).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamberg,_New_York
She represents the 5th district of Minnesota, in Minneapolis. “Little Somalia’. Arabs in Dearborn, Michigan, never even heard of Islamberg, York, all 200 of then.
Rashida Tlaib is Dearborns representative. She is also a member of the “ squad” like Ilhan Omar. I lived and worked in and around Detroit until 2014. I worked in child welfare, we received relatively few calls about neglect and abuse from that community, it was rather closed off. In my business you dealt mostly with moms, there you invariably had a dad, brother or son present “translating” for you. Needless to say that didn’t set well with my staff. There were a lot of arab stores and shopping areas where you might feel unwelcome, even unsafe, kind of like my white self felt unwelcome and unsafe in parts of Detroit. The large groups of young arab men would ring the same alarm bells as a large group of young black men.
“exclusive Muslim-only community”
=============================
Nope. Ain’t gonna happen.
There’s already laws in place everywhere in the country.
————
Now, having said that, there are laws preventing the restricting of negro’s and others but….when a community starts the downward spiral the smart people leave and the long term result is that you end up with a ghetto by default.
Would you want to live in an area where there were muslims living on either side of you?
There are all sorts of other issues here besides the so-called religious discrimination. The State has a monopoly on violence and allowing a small section of that state to institute it’s own laws and law enforcement jeopardizes that monopoly. As just one example, if a muslim commits murder then runs back to that “EPIC” zone, can state police follow? Does the state have to file extradition paperwork to get him back? Can the EPIC zone be a non-extradition area? Creation of that zone is a threat to all other Texans subject to Texas law. Hell, if that’s allowed, why can’t a bunch of old farts set up our own “religious” zone with our own laws and law enforcement? Tell the state to fuck off, we got this. Goose and gander and all that.
And also, muslims. Street shitters, goat humpers and general all-around trouble-makers.
Let’s look at this from another angle. Where in Texas, did the creators of this EPIC b.s., come up with contractors and tradespeople to push the dirt, pour the concrete, hammer the nails, string the wires, lay the pipe and tile the roofs for this project? Were they all totally clueless about the project they were working on? I somehow doubt, in a place like Texas where nearly everyone is some sort of Christian, that this would have progressed beyond the paperwork stage if folks knew what was going on. I can’t think of anyone so greedy as to chase the money they could make working on such an anti-American jobsite. And I don’t think that they were able to find enough Muslim contractors to get the job done.
Alas, there will always be some people for whom a paycheck outweighs morality, patriotism, or long-term survival. Look at all the work done during the WuFlu dem-panic to restrict the freedoms of Americans.
Jehovahs Witnesses have a similar set up near a small town in New York State. These kind of enclaves are legal as long as hey either dont engage in commerce or allow anyone in the public areas.

<i"Every time, every single time anywhere in the world that Muslims become a significant minority, bad things follow."
One could say “Every time, every single time anywhere in the world that ______ become a significant minority, bad things follow”, and fill in the blank with any ethnic or religious group. Even “model minorities” like Jews, Chinese, or Hindus bring problems. Whether these problems are significant is another question.
Another question is whether the problems are rooted in a peculiar characteristic of the defined group. Moslems are infamous for “honor killings”- but these crimes are also characteristic of some non-Moslem groups, such as the Druze, the Yezidi, and the Sikhs. And prominent Moslem clerics have denounced “honor killing” – with little effect.
So is the problem Islam, or the underlying culture of the Middle East and South Asia?
It’s also clear that Islam seems to predispose its followers to cultural supremacist and
aggressive behavior. But that isn’t and hasn’t been universal. For instance, the Lipka Tatars, who settled in NE Poland in the 1600s, and aside from a mutiny for back pay in 1669-1674, have never caused any trouble. They rode with John Sobieski against the Turks in 1683, and fought the Soviets and Nazis in the 1900s.
That’s one modest counter-example compared to an avalanche of “bad things”, but it’s “proof of concept”.
How timely is this?

I agree. From the Muslim conquests in Europe before the Crusades, to the Barbary Pirates, to modern day Hamas, Muslims are problematic. They need to stay in their primarily Muslim countries.
Unfortunately, as we are founded on religious Liberty, there simply is no solution to this problem in America. It’s a forgone conclusion my grandkids will be living with EPICs all over the country.
They’re going to need El Cid again.
El Cid is disguised as an AR platform.
