The Full Story

Sundance has a piece that everyone should read — Trump, Patel, Gabbard and Bondi most of all — concerning the whole disgusting political hit called “Crossfire Hurricane” (a.k.a. RussiaGate).

Using access to the NSA database, the U.S. Govt., specifically “FBI Contractors”, began doing political surveillance of Donald Trump’s campaign. This intel was then sent to the Clinton team. Clinton would benefit from knowing the communication inside the Trump campaign. All of that intel was in the metadata captured by the NSA and searched by the FBI contractors.

All of this activity was political surveillance, using govt resources to feed the Clinton team the info.

I know;  “This is such ancient history, Trump’s president now, can’t we all just move onnnn?”

No.  Now more than ever, the people culpable for the whole thing need to be rooted out, exposed and prosecuted — because if they aren’t, this bullshit is going to happen again, and this time, it might work.

Sundance, as usual, has the right of it.

  1. I haven’t read the article yet but you’re absolutely right. This is light years beyond the Watergate Break In scandal. And the people who ordered it, did it and benefited from it need to go the deepest darkest most urine scented hell hole we can find.

    1. Yes! The SYSTEM has shown itself incapable of properly dealing with this issue.
Our only recourse seems to be to just disappear them.

  2. The important point (that I alluded to in my post about Comey yesterday) is that they knew it was BS from the beginning. The FBI judged that the dossier was fake from the beginning, bit ignored that as a pretext to start the investigation. It was not an investigation that went wrong, it was a op against Republicans and nothing more, ever.

  3. No one will be prosecuted. In fact, most people are, and will be, completely unaware of the political use of the FBI/CIA, or will claim that that it is just “conspiracy theory.” The media – who were willing participants in this smear campaign – will not cover it. Outlets that do cover it will be themselves smeared as “MAGA media” or “biased media” (and yes, those making the accusation will entirely miss – or ignore – the obvious irony).

Good God, we’ve got Jake Tapper selling a book that he was fooled! – misled! – bamboozled! – by the Biden administration into thinking Biden was sentient, and hell- Jake Tapper was in on it! Jake Tapper is set to make millions claiming that Jake tapper was fooled by – among others, Jake Tapper. You can’t make this shit up. And don’t kid yourself – this is not the first time this sort of thing has happened. And it won’t be the last. It is as it always was. Tapper et al. have no shame at all.

None of them do. Access to power makes them shameless. Official, inner Washington is an incestuous cesspool. Only a Donald Trump can shut it down (independently rich, and not part of the inside game), and he will be fought tooth and nail by official Washington – both parties – and most of all by the permanent bureaucracy, who’s gravy train is at risk. The odds are, still, that he will fail, and his presidency will be just another pothole on the road to the US government driving our nation off a cliff, and partying the whole way.

The only question as I approach retirement, sadly, is how far away is the cliff? No one really knows. But it’s coming. I’ve been preaching to my kids for years to prepare for when the political/economic system we now take for granted fails.

“Things that can’t go on forever, won’t. Debts that can’t be paid, won’t be.” -Glen Reynolds

I hope my kids have listened. Prepare to be largely self-sufficient, or relying on a local support network. Get to know your neighbors, and establish communication. And hoard precious metals: brass, copper, and lead. You needn’t be entirely a selfish asshole, in fact, it is counterproductive; but there may well be moments when you must be.

  4. Three ‘principles’ come to mind:
“We know that they are lying, they know that they are lying, they even know that we know they are lying, we also know that they know we know they are lying too, they of course know that we certainly know they know we know they are lying too as well, but they are still lying.” Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

They *have to* continue to lie, as support for their previous lies. Otherwise, the truth might be let loose.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” attributed to Joseph Goebbels

    So of course they lie.
And of course Jim Treacher is correct: Journalism covers some stories with a pillow, until it stops moving… (too lazy to look up the real quote, so the paraphrase.)
