No Resistance

When it comes to hatred of corporations, I yield to no man thereof.  Having worked in the festering cesspits of same on more than a couple of occasions, I know how they operate, and the depths of corporate bastardy in which they have no problems swimming.

This is especially loathsome when it comes to rolling over and offering up the corporate belly for the godless government agencies to scratch (and even claw, sometimes).

Small businesses, by comparison, have shown a great deal more spine than their larger brethren.  One has only to recall that gym owner in New Jersey who, when overcoming the totalitarian state government agents and the governor during the Great Covidiocy, ended up giving all of them the finger when the eighty (80!) charges against them were all dismissed with prejudice.

Back when I was running a supermarket chain’s loyalty program, I always made it clear that individuals’ right to privacy was paramount when it came to their shopping data and habits.  On more than one occasion I told divorce lawyers to piss off when they came snooping around, a couple of times facing them down when they threatened me with a subpoena.  (When I shared one of these incidents with the guys who were in my share group, one owner of a small chain said, “Oooh, I wish that some asshole would come after me with a subpoena;  I’d go to jail with the greatest of pleasure, and the positive PR I’d get for the company would be worth millions!”  He was seventy-five years old at the time.)

Of course, the banking industry — to a man, it seems — shows no such defiance when the feds come a-calling:

A new report released by the House Judiciary Committee, in partnership with the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, reveals extensive violations and abuse of the law by the federal government.

According to congressional investigators, the FBI abused the Bank Secrecy Act in order to work with banks to target opponents of the Biden administration and Trump supporters.

“The information obtained during the Committee and Select Subcommittee’s investigation, and detailed in this report, is concerning. Documents show that federal law enforcement increasingly works hand-in-glove with financial institutions, obtaining virtually unchecked access to private financial data and testing out new methods and new technology to continue the financial surveillance of American citizens.

“Documents obtained by the Committee and Select Subcommittee demonstrate that federal law enforcement increasingly relies on financial institutions for highly sensitive information about Americans without legal process. Federal law enforcement has effectively deputized financial institutions to advance its investigations and to gain access to the information that financial institutions possess. As financial institutions’ capacity to track and gather data on Americans continues to increase, federal law enforcement will continue to be incentivized to rely on banks for easy access to sensitive information about Americans’ private lives.”

Now I can — sorta — see the point if the purpose is to track down gangster money-launderers or tax evaders (and even then, I’m skeptical in the extreme because nunya).  But that wasn’t the case here:

In a previous investigation done by the Committees, investigators found the FBI was flagging purchases that included “MAGA,” “patriot” and even bibles. As Townhall reported in January 2024:

Federal law enforcement agencies partnered with a number of financial institutions to flag transactions with the terms “MAGA,” “Trump” and more. They also monitored transactions at stores like Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shop. Other purchases linked to religious texts, like Christian bibles, were flagged under the guise of “preventing extremism.”

Further, the FBI has conducted hundreds of thousands of illegal searches without proper warrants in recent years.

I realize that Trump’s DOJ is going to have its hands full for the first couple years of the new Administration.  But I hope they can spare a few moments to track down the bastards who authorized this nonsense, prosecute and imprison them.

Then again, as it was the FBI themselves who indulged in this un-Constitutional larceny, I’m not holding out much hope.

And they wonder why pics like these are so popular…

Seasonally Appropriate

Seeing as health insurance companies are in focus all of a sudden, this seems appropriate:

And (from Sarah):

More on this topic later in the week.  I see that they’ve apparently caught the asshole who shot that CEO in NYfC, so there’s that.  But there’s a deeper issue, which I want to explore.

Save The Wales

This is a strange one:

One of America’s most wanted terror suspects has been tracked down and arrested in rural Wales some 21 years after a double bombing attack in San Francisco.

Wales?

The BBC reports Daniel Andreas San Diego, 46, is in custody after an operation Monday backed by counter terrorist police and North Wales Police.

The fugitive now faces extradition to the U.S. after being arrested at a remote property near woodland in north Wales by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA).

The NCA said the Berkeley, California-born runaway was arrested at the request of U.S. authorities and appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Tuesday, where extradition proceedings began.

Okay, the “Berkeley” part makes sense, but…

The FBI has previously called the suspect an “animal rights extremist” and was the first alleged domestic terrorist to be added to the U.S. agency’s most wanted terrorists list.

Ooooh, an eco-terrorist. (Now does the title of the post make sense?)

I suggest that he be reunited with his beloved Mother Nature en route back to the U.S. in the usual manner, from 10,000 feet up:

Ocean, prairie, jungle, Berkeley, Wales, whatever.  I’m not fussy.

Or if we wanted to make the punishment fit the crime, we could always borrow a pager from some other terrorist and duct-tape it to his scrotum.

Potato, potahto.

Commies Gonna Commie

Needless to say, the Left is following their usual modus operandi  when something happens they disagree with:

Several of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted with dangerous threats over the last 24 hours, the Trump team announced on Wednesday.

“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and Administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them. These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting.’ In response, law enforcement and other authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action,” Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

Apparently, Law Enforcement is all over this one.

“The FBI is aware of numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting incoming administration nominees and appointees, and we are working with our law enforcement partners,” the bureau said. “We take all potential threats seriously, and as always, encourage members of the public to immediately report anything they consider suspicious to law enforcement.”

Uh huh.  I’ll believe it when I see a few perp walks.  Sorry, Fibbies, but your standing with people like me is lower than shark shit.  [200 reasons omitted for brevity]

Ask Me Why

…whenever I get an begging letter from my alma mater, I give a merry laugh as I consign the missive to the trashcan, with extreme prejudice.  Try this one:

University of North Texas teacher’s college hides DEI language from courses following public scrutiny

I took one Ed course — one — when I was at UNT back in the day, and resolved never to take any more because it was socialist agitprop of the most obvious kind, disguised as teaching principles.  I say “disguised” because of all the students taking the class, I was the only one who complained about the content to the professor.

What else can one say when a considerable proportion of the content featured the writings of self-confessed terrorist Bill Ayers, in his post-Weather Underground guise as a professor of Education at U. of Illinois in Chicago.  Here’s a snippet from his Wikipedia (hardly an impartial source, as we all know):

William Charles Ayers is an American retired professor and former militant organizer. In 1969, Ayers co-founded the far-left militant organization the Weather Underground, a revolutionary group that sought to overthrow what they viewed as American imperialism. During the 1960s and 1970s, the Weather Underground conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings in opposition to U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. The bombings caused no fatalities, except for three members killed when one of the group’s devices accidentally exploded. The FBI described the Weather Underground as a domestic terrorist group.  Ayers was hunted as a fugitive for several years, until charges were dropped due to illegal actions by the FBI agents pursuing him and others.

And we students were required to follow this not-so-ex-terrorist’s teachings?  Fuck that for a bowl of Commies.  I see with great displeasure that this old bastard is still alive and poisoning society, the prevaricating asshole.

Anyway, given that background, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the Ed Department at UNT is lousy with commiesymps and useful idiots, so of course they’re going to be staunch adherents of the disease known as DEI, and will go to extraordinary lengths to “disguise” DEI language while continuing to teach its principles to gullible students (the future teachers of our kids).

No wonder our public school system is so terrible.

Keep asking me for donations, UNT, and I’ll keep ignoring them.  Their official (i.e. un-Photoshopped) mug:

Just Visitors

The other night I re-watched the brilliant Matt Damon movie The Good Shepherd, and as I’d forgotten a great deal of the dialogue, this little exchange between Damon and Joe Pesci hit me hard:

It is a brutal yet honest summary of our American society.  (And no doubt, the Usual Suspects will indulge themselves in their typical Fainting Goat hysterical response to anything brutal yet honest.)  Here’s what Wilson is saying:  at the heart of our American society and way of life lie the bedrock principles of our Anglo-Saxon heritage, as embodied by the Mayflower settlers, their behavior and government.  Much later, of course, these principles evolved into the still-better bedrock of our nation:  the Constitution.

Another of those principles was that of the family.  Yes, in reading the above script, we can say that family per se  is not at all the sole provenance of White Anglo-Saxon heritage, as witnessed by the gangster Palmi’s little aside about the Italians.  But think about what Palmi’s “family” has been twisted and perverted into:  the Mafia — hardly the stuff of the White Anglo-Saxon concept of family, is it?

Consider the picture I posted on Thanksgiving a couple days ago:

And likewise, the very epitome of American life is the institution of Thanksgiving — a holiday unlike any other in the world (although often copied), it can truly be called the most sacrosanct of our social institutions.

But let me differ from one aspect of Wilson’s little statement above:  Thanksgiving is not the sole preserve of of White Anglo-Saxons, although the tradition was certainly begun by them.  All kinds of people celebrate Thanksgiving:  Blacks, Jews, Italians (just to mention the groups mentioned above) as well as most of the rest of this vast patchwork of peoples that this wonderful country encompasses.

Now let’s look at the people in America who don’t celebrate Thanksgiving.  Who are they?

They don’t believe in the freedom of speech, unless it’s speech they (and by extension, the State) approve of.  Everything else is lies or fake news and / or dangerous because individuals can’t be trusted.  Recognize the Constitutional Amendment this involves?

They don’t want the public to be armed — only the State and its minions — because individuals can’t be trusted to possess firearms.  Don’t let that silly outdated Constitutional Amendment tell you otherwise.

In fact, go right down the Bill of Rights, and the chances are that they want to abolish every single amendment — because of course that irrelevant old document is a brake on State power, so of course they want no part of it.

These are people for whom the very concept of Thanksgiving is rooted in wrongdoing:  the colonization of America, the “stealing” of the land from the peoples whom they call “Native” (but whose only claim to the land is that they arrived here earlier than the Pilgrims), and you know the rest of the dreary diatribe because it’s screamed at us constantly by these people every year at this time.

But it’s not just that.  Unsurprisingly, when you follow a socio-political system that posits that the State is everything — more important than family, than friendship and all the ties that bind a society together — and actively work to institute that horrible system here in the United States, anything that embodies tradition and family is fair game for destruction.

Think I’m exaggerating?  Try this one:

”A Yale psychiatrist suggested that leftists ditch Thanksgiving and the holidays with family members who voted for Trump — and members of my generation are buying into this nonsense. They can’t stand to be around their Trump-supporting family members. I don’t know, the turkey’s not vegan, Grandma’s house isn’t a safe space — so Gen Z is saying that they’re ditching it.”

My only quibble is that I’m pretty sure that it’s not just Gen Z;  given the depth of the hysteria from the Left, it’s a multi-generational thing.  In other words, Thanksgiving is just another political instrument for them to show their frustration and childish rage, and not a beloved institution.

And this is what Edward Wilson is talking about when he talks about “just visiting”:  these people have no roots in our society, and they’re trying to undermine those of the rest of us who do.

It’s not a group of “Italians, Jews and niggers”;  in fact it has nothing to do with race or ethnicity at all:  it’s a pathological segment of our society who are “just visiting”, a segment that is linked not by race or heritage, but by their failed, broken ideology.

It is they, and not we, who are on the wrong side of history (as they so often scream at us).

They’re not Americans.  Just visitors.
