Dept. Of Righteous Shootings

From Reader Mike L. comes this heartwarming tale.

Executive summary:  Guy tracks his stolen truck with some tracking gizmo, confronts thief when he finds it, thief pulls a gun, whereupon lawful owner pulls his gun and sends thief off to his just reward.

Best part, though, is the handwringing response from the fuzz:

“If you are to get your vehicle stolen, I know that it’s frustrating, but please do not take matters into your own hands like this,” Soliz said. “ … it’s never safe to take matters into your own hands as you can see … by this incident.”

Not safe for the Choirboy, perhaps… but otherwise, a pretty decent outcome.

  1. The primary job of policemen appears to be paperwork from what I have seen. It’s like catching criminals or preventing crime is further down their list of assigned responsibilities. This is especially true in urban areas where crime rates are higher

  2. Should be medals awarded for saving the taxpayers $$$ on a trial. Choirboy should have realized though that theft is the realm of Government and/or its lackeys and supporters. Choirboy should have done this in Cali where the citizens are so cowed they do nothing. Texas still has men in it.

  3. Interesting. I saw the headline for this the other day, but it was presented as “Man uses AirTag to track stolen vehicle, kills thief”. In other words, Redneck McNeckerson went into vigilante mode and tracked-down and killed a person in cold blood. It’s my fault for not reading the article but finding out that the perp drew first sure puts a different spin on the story.

  4. The ‘justification’ you hear from thieves is something along the lines of
‘what are you complaining about, you have insurance so you get ‘new’ stuff’ !!
My retort – ‘ I’ve traded pieces of my life for money to buy what I own. If you
steal it, yes I get something back, maybe, but I still traded more pieces of
my life to buy the insurance so you are still stealing PIECES of MY LIFE !
I may just decide to take the REST OF YOURS !!’
    Just sayin’

    1. Unfortunately, cops throw the same line out there all the time. My wife was in a wreck and the cops wouldn’t even write it up. They told her “you have insurance, use it” and left. But hey, back the blue, right? Fuck ’em.
