Exposure

Some woman is griping about men (I know, what else is new?), specifically that men get grumpier as they get past the age of 25.

The anonymous poster took to the British parenting forum Mumsnet, where she explained that a friend once told her men get grumpier as they age – and now that she’s in her forties, she has noticed this in her male peers.

…and predictably, a bunch of other womyns pile on.

Allow me, then, to propose a counter-theory:

As men get older, their exposure to women increases and accumulates… and THAT’S what makes them progressively grumpier.

Of course, I may be wrong;  but you have to admit, it’s a valid argument.

  1. In their efforts to get laid, men under 25 will put up with appalling behaviour from women and even pretend to enjoy it.

Subsidize anything and you get more of it and kindness towards bad behaviour is a subsidy. Grumpiness, or more properly “honest and fair criticism” is a tax.

After 25 men have usually had more than enough.

I expect there is some kind of reverse similar observation about the BS that women put up with us from us.

    1. Came to say this same thing. At some point we get old enough to no longer put up with bitchy behavior, strange emotional tirades, manic-depressive roller coaster rides, and just want a fucking sammich, a beer, and some goddamned peace and quiet.

  2. when I changed careers to enter the healthcare industry, I worked with many more women than in my previous career and most of the women were in their 20s. I am so glad that I was well out of the dating pool and only had to work with these folks. Some were absolutely a joy to work with. Many of the 20somethings were already just insufferable shrews. Hearing their baby daddy issues were just appalling. Thank God I avoided giving my opinion when asked many times.

  3. At some point we ALL just get tired of all the BS we have to deal with, be it from a spouse, a job, the government, society in general, or just life itself.

  4. I have a comment but I’ll refrain from making it because it might ruin my nascent political career.
