Here’s an interesting situation over in Britishland:
The English Touring Opera has dropped 14 white musicians in a woke drive to ‘increase diversity’ in the company. The musicians, aged 40 to 66, have been told they will not be offered contracts with the company in Spring 2022 citing diversity guidance from the Arts Council England, the Sunday Times reported.
The musicians, who officially work as freelancers, can be dropped from the opera season-on-season but many have played with the company for up to 20 years and consider it a permanent job.
Of course, this is a disgusting thing to do, but complaining doesn’t achieve anything, as any fule kno.
Here’s a thought.
I don’t have the numbers, but I’m willing to bet that this 40-66 age group would constitute a majority of the Touring Opera’s audience. So I call on all patrons in that age range to boycott their performances.
I wonder if the company’s finances could sustain the subsequent loss of income…

While interesting in itself, the piece not just about a-fucking-dobe, with which (sic) I have a personal feud. A bit further in he rants about the incessant changes by all manufacturing companies as they push towards forcing us to rent everything/own nothing. Can’t quite remember, but is there not some overt lefty agenda pushing this also?? Just asking.

English Touring Opera (ETO) is an opera company in the United Kingdom founded in 1979 under the name Opera 80 by the then-existing Arts Council of Great Britain. In 1992 the company changed to its present name. Today it is sponsored in part by Arts Council England [1] as well as receiving support from individual and corporate sponsors, plus trusts and foundations.
Yes, there will be more of this to come. But your comment about the demographic of Opera and Classical music is correct, although I think it skews older than 66. The Woke-ists are killing everything in the name of fairness, diversity, inclusion and all the other “feel good” terms. Damn them all to hell.

…to be replaced by all Asian musicians? … and yes, I agree the audience and donor base likely skews older and whiter than mid 60’s .
Although if they replace all the white musicians with Asians then the same will happen to the donor demographic. So no net change in $$$
To even things out, perhaps the fired musicians should apply to work in the National Basketball Association as players. There doesn’t seem to be a correct representation by numbers there either. After all, it is not talent or skill we are interested in, but what the players look like.
