About That California Thing

…you know, that 10-day waiting period before you can take possession of that gun you just purchased.

Let’s just hope you don’t need that shootin’ iron before then, is all.

Or if you are being robbed and you’re still stuck in that waiting period without a gun, I’m sure that if you explain the situation and ask the burglars / robbers nicely, they’ll go away and leave you alone till the end thereof.

That’s what the CalGov means by “tough shit”, I guess.

(My CA Readers — and why are they still there? — are probably not in that same boat, as I’m pretty sure they’re all, shall we say, adequately armed.)

  1. Not to mention as a non-resident visiting there you can’t carry. BUT if you visit on business, say to work a few weeks out of the year, you owe them taxes.

  2. As any reasonable American does, I opposed waiting periods and associated nonsense.

    BUT.

Just like the best time to plant a fruit tree was 20 years ago, the best time to buy a gun is *well* before you need it. If you wait until you’re being threatened then you don’t have time to get training and practice.

  3. I don’t give a sweet d*mn why they’re still living in Cali, putting up with the ever-increasing level of Liberal crap. I’ve not been there for over thirty years (I have a VERY low Liberal Tolerance Level), but the outbound highways were wide open way back then, and I believe they still are now. I only ask that they head for Colorado or New Mexico. We surely don’t need any more of them stopping here in Arizona.

  4. didn’t MLK, Jr say something to the effect that “a right delayed is a right denied?”

Let’s build a wall around the urban areas of California and keep those sickos locked in. we’ll keep a couple of deep water ports of course and all the farmland

  5. Tough shit indeed. As we have discussed, just one reason why wife and I bailed in 2015 for Texas. A whole ‘nother discussion is the nightmare of buying ammo there. Just a few high points–

–You can only buy ammo from or through a licensed ammo seller.
–You must present your Cal DOJ issued permission slip.
–On line orders must also go through said licensed seller, not shipped your address.

Sure sounds like a ‘wink-wink’ end run around gun registration to me.

      1. I don’t think registration per se, at least not yet. Certainly there is a “usable” collection of data that is growing as we speak. I think it is more of a multi-pronged attack. “Nice gun ya got there. What a shame you can’t get ammo for it”.

I was a sole proprietor FFL in Kalifornia for almost 20 years, up until 2012.

        1. you’re absolutely right. The anti rights folks are seeking to disarm us completely and they will use any tactic they can think of to meet their goal. They seek to eliminate the gun culture in the US. They can rot.
