  1. The “Boeing Aircraft Fuel Leak” story is really a “United Airlines Fuel Leak” story.

The fifth major “United Airlines Can’t Maintain Planes” story in recent weeks.

If it was Boeing in general, we’d see it across every major airline, instead of just United.

  2. ^What cirby said. As the son of a lifetime Lockheed engineer, it is not in my nature to defend Boeing, but the idiot media is blaming them for all kinds of things that reflect worse on the operators of the aircraft than Boeing itself. Regardless of their self-inflicted faults, the last thing the US needs is to drive Boeing out of business.

  3. I think the media is blasting Boeing because didn’t they try to open a non union plant in the Carolinas a few years back?

  4. Some thoughts:

On JML: That’s the kind of thing that could cause me to go back to doing yard work.

On your advice to sell Boeing and CVS stock: I agree. Take the money and invest in some good 12-to 18-year old brown liquor. It won’t make you rich in your retirement, but you just won’t care.

About your “danger to humanity”: as I see it, the only danger would be if a strap breaks, and then only if you’re close enough to be caught in the avalanche. But what a way to go!

On Career Day: I can see the Grandpa’s Glow on the eastern horizon, all the way here to AZ. Spoil that child! She deserves it!

  5. Don’t read too much into the French thing: according to the article it’s mostly a protest vote.
