pMcode Reference

ExpressionEngine supports the use of “pMcode” within your entries.  pMcode is a sort of simple syntax that you can use to format your entries with bold text, links, and more.  It is very similar (in many cases identical) to the codes used on many popular forum packages.

pMcode can be used when you leave a comment.

URLs and Linking

my site

my site

You can easily create links with custom text or simply with the URL itself as the link, as long as it is short.  Long URLs will not wrap (because there are no spaces in a link) so the page width will distort if the link is too long.

Email Links

We do not recommend posting your email address in comments on the site.  It will be picked up by bots that troll for email addresses to spam you.  (The email address you provide as part of your registration is protected and not visible to bots.)

you@your-site.com

As with URLs, you can also format email addresses.  These pMcode tags will automatically encode the email address to make it more difficult for “spam bots” to retrieve it.

Font Sizes And Colors

Hey look at this!

Hey look at this!

You can specify font sizes as 1 through 6.  1 is the smallest and 6 is the largest.

Some green text

Some green text

You may also specify a color for the text.  Further, these pMcodes can be nested.

some larger green text

some larger green text

Bold, Strong, Em And Italic

some bold text

[strong]some strong text[/strong]

[em]some em text[/em]

some italic text

some bold text

some strong text

some em text

some italic text

Bold, strong, em and italic text is simple to add.

Strike Text

[strike]text stricken[/strike]

text stricken

This produces text with a line through the center of it.  Note that the output of this tag is not valid in XHTML 1.0 Strict documents.

Quoting
Some text. blah, blah, blah...
Some text. blah, blah, blah…

You can surround text written by someone else which you’d like to “quote”.  These tags will be replaced with <blockquote> HTML tags.

How to Delete Your Membership

If you wish to have your active membership deleted, please follow the steps below.  Your access is not literally deleted, but your personal details are removed from your profile and it is set to inactive.  At the sole discretion of the site owner, your comments may also be removed.

You acknowledged, as part of the Terms of Service provided when you registered on this site, that all comments become the property of the site owner.

  1. Click here to display Your Control Panel. It will open in a new window/tab so these instructions will remain open in a different window/tab.

  2. If you are not logged in, log in.

    Your Control Panel will display:

  3. Click to select “Edit Profile” as indicated on the above graphic.

  4. Your Profile will display:

  5. Click to drill down on the "Delete your Membership?" selection and choose “Yes. Delete my membership.”

  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the [Update] button to save your settings.

Your membership is set to delete.  It will not be deleted immediately.  Periodically the database is checked for any new delete requests.  At that time your membership will be altered so you no longer are identified (all unique characteristics are stripped from your profile).

If you posted to the old Forums this request will not alter any comments/posts as that database is static.  Any comments in posts on this site (at the discretion of the site owner) may remain unchanged.

As per your agreement with the Terms of Service, that you indicated your acceptance of when you registered, all comments remain the property of the site owner(s), to be used or deleted, at their discretion.
