It already seems as if people are being conditioned to expect talk of rolling blackouts whenever the weather outside seems frightful.
To be very clear: rolling blackouts are not now, nor have they been, normal in the US. Therefore, having to expect rolling blackouts going forward would be abnormal. Nevertheless, as utility providers and power grid monitors have recently warned, the more grids are saddled with intermittent, unreliable wind and solar facilities, the more unreliable they are becoming. They’re more prone to capacity shortfalls and blackouts.
And this, my friends, is utter bullshit.
I don’t want to live under the constant threat of “rolling blackouts”, “load shedding” or any of the other cutesy little euphemisms these bastards come up with to disguise their incompetence.
I expect — no, I demand — to have uninterrupted electricity, 24/7/365, no matter the weather conditions or for any other reason.
If this means that power generation is achieved through burning coal, gas, oil or hippies, I don’t care.
Despite what the Greens and other eco-freaks think, electricity is not an indulgence or a luxury; it is as important to our civilization as food or water.
And I demand that our elected governments come to terms with that reality, and make the decisions that ensure it — or else be replaced by voters.
Enough of this climate change nonsense, its lies and its fantasies.
Tracking & Stalking
Reno, Nevada, Mayor Hillary Schieve, an independent, sued a private investigator after discovering a GPS tracking device on her vehicle.
The lawsuit, filed last week, alleges that the investigator trespassed onto her property to install the device without the mayor’s consent. She claims she was unaware it was attached to her vehicle until it was discovered by a mechanic.
The lawsuit named David McNeely as the private investigator and 5 Alpha Industries as the company involved. McNeely reportedly worked on behalf of an unnamed third party.
I can’t wait for the “unnamed third party” to become public knowledge. I’m willing to accept the proposition that if it was Democrats, we’ll never be told. Still:
“I am publicly announcing this now, and did not make any public statements at the time when it was discovered, to make clear that this is about one thing, and one thing only: it is not ok to stalk people. This is about standing up to the rampant harassment of our civil servants and community leaders, and saying, this is NOT ok.”
No, it isn’t, Madame Mayor. Now tell that to all the fucking government alphabet agencies, who spy on us ordinary folks constantly and think that this is just fine and dandy.
Oh, and one last thing, Madame Mayor: given that snooping is being done largely by Democrats and the various Swamp bureaucrats they support, do you regret your earlier presidential endorsement?

No Exceptions
Not so much fun when it affects you personally, is it?
Oregon police are worried that if Ballot Measure 114 (BM 114) is allowed to take effect it may limit them to ten-round magazines and force them to get a permit in order to carry their firearms off-duty.
Among other things, BM 114 bans magazines holding more than ten rounds and requires residents to get a permit before being allowed to own a gun.
BM 114 contains an exemption for officers on duty, but there is confusion as to what hoops officers might have jump through in order to be armed and to maintain a standard number of rounds in their firearms when they are off-duty.
As the title of this post suggests: no fucking exceptions. Let cops and other government officials have to live under the bullshit laws that affect all citizens.
Even better would be if Oregon cops (of all jurisdictions) just come right out and say flatly that they’re not going to enforce any of this crap.
But they won’t, of course, and some “supplemental” law is going to be passed which carves out an exemption for law enforcement officers and deputies.
