1. In his rant against modern architecture, Prince Charles pointed out that when the Nazis “redesigned” London, they were considerate enough to leave behind nothing more offensive than rubble. (Not a direct quote, but close enough.) The poor Germans, with a much closer proximity to the Soviets, were unfortunate enough to be that much more “influenced” by their aesthetic.

    1. Is the modern picture taken from the far side of the bridge? The church does seem closer to the photographer in the modern photo.
